One of those sundays when you don’t want to cook but want some good soul food out of somebodies auntie or grandma’s kitchen. I actually ordered 4 plates and 2 PCs of red velvet cake. I ate my dressing while my cousin waited for her food (greedy). You know it’s good when it’s complete silence and then you hear an occasional mumph and a head shake. Tried Soul Food for the first time! Was meeting a friend in Tuscaloosa for lunch and he dropped this location to meet. I ordered the Pork Chop, collard greens, mac n cheese and candied yams. Absolutely hands down, delicious! The pork chop was moist, seasoned perfectly and crispy around the edges. Collard greens were very good. Mac n cheese were surprisingly cheesy and yummy and the star was the candied yams which to me tasted like Christmas in my mouth! Oh and the staff were super friendly, helpful and awesome! Thank you for showing islanders from Hawaii your southern hospitality!

Even though they are open days during the week, this is my Sunday go-to restaurant!! They have a delicious soul food menu. I’ve only experienced them being out of the the meat I wanted once and it was minutes to closing time. Their prices are very reasonable and affordable. The customer service is always top tier. Everyone is very courteous and professional. I’ve always ordered carry out but they do have a dining area with a large tv mounted on the wall that has always had great movies playing to enjoy while eating. Jurlines is definitely a top pick if you want soul food and friendly service!!!

Today was my first day here. I had a vegetable plate with collard greens, dressing, macaroni and cheese, and candied yams. Everything was sooo delicious and was ready very quick. Great customer service too! Sorry no picture because after the first bite, everything vanished.

Best experience we’ve had in a very long time. They literally treat you like family. Great prices and amazing food. Also they ASK you how you want your meat cooked, he asked if I wanted my livers cooked hard or soft. He cooked them hard like I like them, best livers I’ve ever had from a restaurant.

This is the REAL deal! I was on campus working and hadn’t eaten all day. Found this spot online and when I pulled up and saw Mother Jurline’s picture on the front on a sign I knew I found what I was looking for. Everyone we need to spread the word. The cousins and uncle are doing and and I know Moma would be so proud of them. I plan to be back next week when I get back to Stillman!! Check the menu online before you get there.
