As best as can be determined the store at 2862 Delaware Avenue in Kenmore, just a few short blocks north of the northern border of the City of Buffalo in New York State, opened its doors in 1956. The store was opened by Mike Davis originally. Mike sold the store to a Kenmore Policeman and his wife in the mid-to-late 1960’s. It was then sold to the current operator and his family in 1981, and has been operated by them from 1981 to the present day.
In spring of 1992 the name was changed to Hoagie Brothers. This was in an effort to join with a budding franchise in the area and take part in important things like cooperative advertising and purchasing.

I guess this is what Mike Subs considers part of their 5 chicken finger dinner. Not only were the fries freezing cold, the chicken is soggy and inedible. On top of it, I found hair in my food! Not worth over $20 with delivery.Never returning again.

Wow, I am proud to say I worked at MIKE’S. I ordered 3 ham submarines today. We each had are our picky way we wanted the submarines. We placed the order on the phone. We got home and the submarines were all marked. We unwrapped them and got what we ordered. The sandwiches were delicious. Thank you for a great memory.

A week ago on Saturday, August 12, I scheduled a pickup for 5:00PM from Mike’s. The order was for 4 subs and a free appetizer of Potato Munchers. My son-in-law wanted a chopped steak Garlic Lover’s Sub of the Month. I ordered online and when selecting my ingredients, there was a choice of Steak, Chop Steak or Burger. The sub description said the sub was made with Chopped Steak so I selected that and deselected the Steak and Burger. When my son-in-law began eating his sub he discovered there was no Chopped Steak in his sub, It was meatless. Also, the free Potato Munchers were missing from the order. That evening I filled out the contact form on Mike’s website and wrote about the problem. I never heard back. The order was Ticket #102 Order Taker DEN. I was so disappointed for my son-in-law.

Dined in on Saturday night…Sat at a high top facing out the window. As we enjoyed our meal we watched the city come alive. It was a relaxing and entertaining experience. We ordered a pizza sub and a turkey sub…enjoyed them both.

Despite knowing the owner (love you Bob!) there is hardly anything negative to say about the service and the food. The staff are friendly every time I’ve gone there and the food quality is very good. The Owner takes great care to ensure service to his customers and the products delivered are of great quality, from the subs to the pizza and wings. Mike’s Subs is always on my list of recommendations when people ask for a good sub shop.

I only treat myself afew times a year now because I don’t live in the area anymore and I always get a mikes original hero sub.. its DOUBLE ham, salami and cheese.. look at these pictures.. i was shocked.. is this what a sub with DOUBLE ham, salami and cheese looks like now ?
