Gumbo was great. Plenty of food and service was excellent. Very pleased with the price and sweet tea is amazing. Try the hush puppies they were some of the best I have ever eaten. Sister had fried fish and it was awesome. The restaurant was full for lunch and it was a friendly atmosphere.

The food here is flavored just right. All the grilled fish was cooked perfectly and the soup options are tasty. Service was good, and the bathrooms were clean. A great little hole in the wall stop in Palestine, TX. I forgot to grab photos before hand so half eaten food for the win.

Super friendly service and great food! Some of the things were mediocre like the stuffed crab in the platter but apart from that the stuffed salmon and fried seafood were amazing! The server was super friendly and helpful as well in choosing the right things. Good place!

What a treasure this little seafood place is! I highly recommend MAMA Seafood in Palestine, TX. The staff and owners are so friendly, the place is clean, the food is delicious and freshly made, and the prices are great. I’ve done dine in and take out, they’re wonderful at both. My favorite is the jumbo butterfly shrimp, with a small salad, and onion rings. I’ve heard their gumbo is great, too, from friends I’ve dined with there before, but I haven’t had it personally. Definitely worth a try, you’ll keep coming back.

The people in this restaurant were friendly and polite. They also care about their customers. My bag had a small hole and the manager made sure to double bag my food to ensure the bag would not rip. Whenever I am in Palestine I will grab a plate. Sorry yall, I didn’t the a picture.

I have tried 3 entrees from here. First was the fried sampler plate which was ok. Then I had the grilled stuffed salmon which was the best thing ever. I have also had the grilled catfish with grilled shrimp. The grilled vegetables and coleslaw are amazing. I’m not crazy about their rice but mixed with the tartar sauce it’s good would definitely recommend this place. Especially if you order from the grilled menu.

We have ate at Mama’s for years. Fried fish is very good, but the grilled fish is GREAT. Vegetables on the grilled plate are outstanding. Portions are large. The dinner salads could use some improvements, such as more items above lettuce and tomato. Suggestions include croutons, cucumber, and maybe pickled okra. Last week, my wife ordered a meal containing fried oysters, and the taste was bordering on dangerous. The shrimp has always been good, never a single problem. We have tried gumbo many times, and it has ALWAYS been very good. The staff is friendly and hard working. My advice is to stick with normal dishes, such as fried/grilled fish and or shrimp, preferably grilled. Skip the oysters. As stated above, we have eaten at Mama’s for a long time, and will continue to do so. Keep in mind this place is not a 5 star seafood restaurant in Galveston……

Good seafood plate. Onion rings and shrimp were my fav’s! I like being able to choose a side salad because I’m not a coleslaw fan. They were nice to let me charge my phone too.
