Was craving an açaí bowl and was happy to find this place. I got the pura vida bowl which was really delicious. A little disappointed though that for $12 some of the blueberries were shriveled up.

Honestly i’m so disappointed. I came in around 5 and it was empty. Only 2 other people were ahead of me. All of our orders took forever. There were a total for 4 employees, one guy made the açaí bowl smoothie base and the other was doing the toppings. the guy doing the toppings was super distracted chatting up another employee that wasn’t even doing orders. it got to the point that his station had 4/5 bowls, UNTOUCHED, as he continued his conversation. But i continued to wait patiently thinking my bowls were gonna be top tier- i was wrong.

I’ve visited three different Playa Bowls locations in MD and none have disappointed me nearly as much as this one. I’ve ordered from this location almost weekly for the past two months (I’m a glutton for punishment I guess) and have never been satisfied with my food. I’m not sure if there’s an issue with pre-prepping too many fruits at once or the timing/amounts of inventory orders but I’ve not once had a bowl where I could happily eat all of the strawberries. With this bowl I was able to eat maybe three of them without gagging, and the rest I just had to toss out because they were too soggy/squishy/spoiled. I’m not sure about the rest of the fruits so you might be safe with ordering those, but avoid the strawberries. I don’t care about visual aesthetics, I just want to be able to eat without getting nauseous.

I’m so thrilled I found this place! I come to Kensington every week and this is my new part of the routine because it’s sooo delicious. Not many raw places these days have such a large selection. Feel-good, healthy food for any time of the day! Fresh, bright flavors. Every bowl I’ve ordered has been visually appealing, filled to the brim with toppings. The bowls could easily be split into two meals. I also like going here for smoothies after a hard work out. Highly recommend!

This place is disgusting to say the less. The customer service is awful. When I first discovered this place I was excited and came weekly. But today I felt terrible leaving this place I waited almost 40mins for an açaí bowl. The person who was mostly making the bowls kept looking at me while they were making them which made me very uncomfortable. I tried to be patience but when I saw people getting there food before me I knew something was off. So after waiting almost 40mins I finally asked them how long is the wait and after whispering to her coworkers it just so happens it was already done and packaged behind the counter she just handed it to me without apologizing for the neglect or even making eye contact she was so careless and unpleasant. The staff lacks diverse which makes this even worse when your treated this way. At this point I didn’t even want the food from this place I threw it in the trash where it belongs. I don’t wanna eat food from people like this. I will never come to this location ever again. I thought about contacting management in hopes to come the next day for better experience but the experience made me feel so emotional I rather avoid this place completely.

After waiting 20 minutes for a simple açaí bowl I asked them what was taking so long and the woman goes oops it’s right here. No idea how long it had been ready but if you have ten employees working it should not take 20 minutes to get a bowl.

I’ve dined in, picked up, got delivery and will say that I love the bowls and smoothies but the atmosphere and service drops stars. The service is low energy at best, complete apathy at its worst.
