I went in for take out, they were about to close in 30 minutes and I thought the food was gonna be old and hard but I just moved and so tired and didn’t wanna cook. To my surprise everything was so fresh and absolutely delicious! The corn bread was so good! Was sweet and fresh. Meatloaf was amazing, melts in your mouth, Mac n cheese, cabbage and green beans all delicious. Honestly way better than it looks, I was surprised how good it was. The staff was super friendly. I will come back again.

I just moved here and I needed some food. This place on Central was very close so I stopped by. The food is absolutely amazing and was served hot and fresh. The cornbread and mac & cheese are out of this world! Everything was great. The peach cobbler is not overly sweet, which I like.

Slop. But they trying tho. I saw the lady take the chicken to the back put bbq sauce on it and put it in the oven. It blew me. If you thinking “soul” means Black your wrong. Everybody has a soul. There’s another location on N Tryon I stopped at once… Both Trash!

I ordered the 3 peice chicken with cabbage and fried okra. The fried okra was delicious! Chicken was very flavorful, and the cabbage was tasty. For dessert tried the peach cobbler, but that wasn’t so good. The crust was very chewy and it just wasn’t right. Food was reasonable priced and the wait wasn’t to long. I will go back. Definitely some good food.

First time there and the food was delicious! Hubby had fried pork chops, mac and cheese and cabbage. I had meatloaf, collard greens and yams. Everything was really, really good! Only thing was my meatloaf wasn’t hot. They took it back and warmed it up for me! Finally, yams that were tasty and not super sweet. The collards were fiyah, OMG!!

I bought Easter dinner from here yesterday. I ordered fried chicken, Mac and cheese and greens. The chicken was cooked to order and good. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the sides. They were not terrible. Just not soul food. The Mac and cheese was creamy and very cheesy but had no flavor. It was not seasoned like soul food mac and cheese. The greens were a bit tough, salty and spicy. Cornbread was very dry. Again, not Soul Food. I will not return. I wish we had more authentic soul food options in Charlotte. Floyd’s is the best I’ve had here.

I eat here all the time today I was so dissatisfied ! I ordered and waited for my pork chops to be cooked (were they really freshly cooked they are dry and shribbled up look at them..) anywho once I come back in the store to get my food I get told they don’t have cabbage which is the only other side I eat with rice or mashed potatoes ( I eat here ones a week they should know) they said it’ll take 10 minutes( everything takes “10 minutes”) came back in 20 and they telling somebody else they don’t have ribs.get home cabbage not cooked all the way through or seasoned, gave my dog the other pork chop even he got chocked up. Rice taste dry too I’m disappointed my bf said his Mac and cheese was dry like it’s been sitting there all day. After 2 hours switch the food OUT or put milk, water make new stuff and mix it SOMETHING ! PLEASE STEP IT UP I am a loyal customer and even my bf hates when I say “soul central” but I convince him every time to get something.

Food was ok-good. I feel I was charged more for portions I didn’t receive. I was visiting from out of state. Read about restaurant;; from airport guide about top destinations /eateries to visit. So my complaint is that I was charged more for meal than what I actually received. Didn’t want to make a fuss so I let it go. Would I visit again, UNDERSIDED
