Great smoke flavor and tender meat. The fatty brisket and pork ribs are the stars of the show. They have an expansive list of drinks and beers served in cold glasses. The sides were just ok.

It was our first time visiting Salt Lick and we really enjoyed the meats offered at the restaurant. I had the pork rib and brisket plate. And the meat was very tender. The only ding on the food was the sides. The potato salad was not great and the beans were over salted. Also we tried the pecan pie and I have to say Bill Miller’s pecan pie is better.

Great BBQ in Round Rock Austin area. Visited Salt Lick for the first time with family. We ordered several 1/2 pound options and sides and shared family style. Great idea! The bbq chicken was awesome and the bread was very soft and almost addicting. The Brisket and beef ribs also very good. The brisket could have been better but still pretty good. The restaurant screamed family style and traditional and the environment was very nice. The service was okay but the host were very welcoming.

Amazing BBQ!!! I’ve been waiting so long to come here & it didn’t disappoint. The ribs were my favorite. I bought their special honey pecan bbq sauce & garlic rub to take home. The bartender made this delicious margarita. Do yourself a favor & stop by when you are in town. The staff was so nice & accommodating. They were busy but efficient. The food was hot, juicy & tasty. I had my leftovers for breakfast & everything was still good!

The BBQ was VERY good. The sausage wasn’t what I care for but the ribs and brisket were delicious! They served coleslaw, potato salad and beans as my sides. The coleslaw wasn’t very tasty. I’m used to southern coleslaw with a lite dressing and this was kinda dry. The potato salad was unlike any kind of potato salad I’ve ever had. It was more like a potato casserole than potato salad, again not my cup of tea but didn’t taste bad. The beans were ok, just beans. I did expect more BUT I have high expectations on BBQ beans. Again, the BBQ was delicious and the staff was great and friendly. I would definitely come again and just stay away from the sides I got today. They had several other sides to choose from. I only gave 4 stars because of the sides and thats the same reason the food only got 4 stars, that’s just a personal opinion. I highly suggest you come try it for yourself!

Amazing BBQ and beer!!! Had the all you can eat option. Totally recommend the “moist” brisket and ribs. All the sides were delicious. The floor, seats and tables were clean. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and there was live music. I wil definitely be coming back to this BBQ joint when I’m back in Roundrock!!

Food was much better a few years ago. The service was terrible. The waiter brought the wrong food, and kept forgetting my sweetener. I asked for jalapeños and they took so long to bring them out that I finished my food before they brought them out. Suggestion to the waiter….please write the orders down if you are that forgetful.

What a fantastic experience. We were seated right away. The server was great and recommended some great options. The potato salad was unique and very good. The sweet tea is the best in Texas. The The food was fantastic and we just had an overall wonderful time. As you can see my son approves.

Decent BBQ. Moist brisket was better than regular. The sandwiches were big and the meat was dry. The potato salad was good. Coleslaw was plain. Sausage was good. Rib was amazing!!!

A nice rustic atmosphere with good food. The service is good. But the overall concept is confusing. This is more of a sit-down experience. I’m more accustomed to going to the pit and choosing. The servers are helpful in explaining the menu but it does make it difficult not knowing what you’re getting. Most Texas BBQ joints you point to what you want or order by the pound but here you’re picking plates and names.
