Food was okay. Nothing special. Atmosphere was a little outdated, and the booths definitely needed upgrading. Hot sauces on the table appeared to expired, or at least not stored correctly. We ordered cheese enchiladas and beef fajitas. No kids sized cups were available. Only positive was that the waitstaff were very attentive and accommodating. Wouldn’t return if I was in town again.

The carnitas were great, fajitas were a bit dry and bland for the dish, salsa was a bit too tomato heavy on flavor, guacamole was absolutely delicious. Our server did okay but forgot my margarita.

We were on a cross-country road trip and were staying overnight in Montgomery. The desk clerk at our hotel recommended this place, and after a long day on the road, the food at El Amigo Mexican Restaurant really hit the spot! Our server was very friendly as he welcomed us and answered our questions politely. The menu was quite extensive. I ordered chicken fajitas and they were very good. The iced tea was also fresh and brisk. This meal at this restaurant turned out to be one of the most satisfying on our trip. If I’m every staying in Montgomery again, I would look forward to a return visit.

Absolutely loved the decor and lighting! Family friendly with an outdoor covered deck. Staff was friendly but not very personable, & the food was overall acceptable. The chips tasted stale, & the cheese dip was bland (seemed like melted cheese with diced jalapeños and nothing more). I had a taco, & it was pretty good. Hubby had the California Burrito & said it was quite delicious. Service was ok, but it seemed the staff was more interested in each other than the guests.
