The brisket here is so good it could inspire an engineer to poetry. Stop in and find out for yourself.

Wow! My husband and I found this gem while driving towards Houston from San Antonio area. It feels like Texas as soon as you walk in- southern decor, fresh barbecue smells. I was very pleased with how clean the restaurant was and how nice the staff were. I’m pretty sure they were the owner and owners family. Thank you all for making me and my husband feel so welcome and we will definitely be back if we’re ever in town.

This will be our new go to place to eat when driving from Corpus to the Murphy’s motocross track. Even though they specialize in BBQ, I was craving a burger and took a chance. Wow what a surprise. It was delicious and the fries were incredible. The staff is incredibly friendly and fun to chat with. Oh yeah, a huge selection of carry out beer and decent on tap selection. Thanks and looking forward to trying your breakfast tacos on the next trip.

Asked for a chopped beef sandwich. Should be simple right? Well apparently not for them. Rough chopped brisket in chunks so some were super fatty bites. Not good. Placed it on 2 sad pieces of white bread plain and dry. I requested mayo and they didn’t add that. Had to ask for bbq sauce because they didn’t know to put any in the chopped beef. Really? I also had to ask for a hamburger bun so the sad bread wouldn’t get nasty. Everyone else puts chopped beef on a hamburger bun right? If you’re going to charge and arm and a leg for sub-par bbq at least don’t cut corners on the bread. It’s a few hours later and my stomach hurts and I feel nauseous I hope I do not fall ill.

We usually eat BBQ in Lockhart at a well-known place, but we decided to stop here and try it out. The brisket taco was scrumptious and my husband enjoyed his BBQ plate. We topped lunch off with banana pudding. And the ticket was much easier on the pocket than the popular place! I think I see more tacos from this stop in my future.

Gas prices were outrageous! 20 cents higher than other stations north and south. Nice place, clean bathrooms, but no excuse for such high gas prices.
