I was shocked by how good this was. It’s hidden in an alley so it took me a second to find. I had the spicy chicken bun and it was SO GOOD. Pretty cheap for how much food you get and the quality! (About $12) The staff was also super nice and I liked their comic book wall.

I was told by my brother that Ekiben was a must-go during my last visit to Baltimore, and I’m glad I followed that advice. They have some unique and delicious options and I’m looking forward to going back.

The atmosphere is great inside! Feels like a party and smells amazing. This is the only restaurant I’ve been to that has prepackaged thai iced tea! The menu has great options and the presentation of the food looks super clean and pretty. This place makes me realize why I love being a Baltimorean. We got the catfish bowl and the neighborhood bird bun. It was super crowded and now we know why. Keep up the great customer service and food!

Nice small place. Met with one of the owners and he is very nice, pleasant and accomodating. They carry halal chicken so that is why i had to try it out. We ordered the chicken sandwich – spicy. The chicken was nice and crispy and the steam bun was a nice addition. The sandwich is basic but very tasty. The sweet and tangy sauce is also very nice. Nice place and would definatelt be back again.

Such a delicious experience. Ordered the tofu brah due to it being recommended to me by the worker. Didn’t disappoint whatsoever and was so much food. Can’t wait to try the other dishes.. I know I’m gonna sound crotchety but the only negative was the music was soooo loud fun vibe while waiting, not as much eating. But now I know!

After hearing rave reviews of Ekiben since COVID, I finally gave this place a try last Saturday. It is fantastic! The food was amazing and the service was fantastic! We came in near the end of the night, and everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful (a little surprising after a long Saturday night in Hampden!)

Normally I’m somewhat skeptical of American Asian-fusion places – I’ve been to some great restaurants and way more mediocre ones. Before my trip to Baltimore, someone suggested I try Ekiben and I looked it up and was intrigued by all the reviewers who said it was their go to spot when in town. Despite my reservations about fusion spots, I love hot chicken, I love bao and I love sambal so I couldn’t resist trying it out and I’m so glad I did!
