My wife and I have tried coming here a couple times now on the weekend and it was always so busy so we decided to try on a random weekday evening. It was worth the wait. The ambiance was unique and not like most of the sushi places locally. There was no wait and the service was quick. Our server was very attentive and kind. And the food was fantastic.

God, I love this place. I travel for a living, and I get SO excited when I can come back here. The food is GORGEOUS and top-notch quality, even for Southern California, where I feel some of the best sushi standards exist in this country. I get the Tako Wasabi every time. It is amazing and most sushi places don’t offer this. I also got the Ankimo again, which I just adore. This time I got the Pctopus Carpaccio, and I’m in LOVE with it. I also got the super fatty yellowtail, and I can’t believe km saying this, but it might be TOO rich. I doubt I’ve ever said thise words. Haahhaaa. I also got the conch sushi. I’m glad I tried it, but it was just ok. I did, however try the salmon belly, and it was amazing! The one issue I have with this place is the music. Now don’t get me wrong, I personally listen to a lot of what they play, but my boyfriend refuses to come back here, because he is a teacher and he can’t believe they play music with the worst of the worst swear words in it, with children in the building. I think the owners need to consider that their teenage employees might not be picking music that’s doing then and favors. I’m no prude. I have a total sailor mouth, but when children are around, I act like an adult. I would NEVER bring my children here, if I had any. Just saying. Otherwise, this place is my fav sushi place in the entire country. I just have to come here alone. 🙁

Food tasted amazingly good and the green tea is really good. I’m not much of a fan when it comes to bagged tea, this one was good though. Service was a bit slow, but it was pretty busy when we came in so it’s understandable. Overall, beautiful atmosphere with cherry blossoms overhead.

Son and I went bowling and wanted sushi for dinner, found Sushiya nearby. We had Gyoza, Lemon Blossom Roll, Malibu Roll, MSC Roll and Yellowtail Collar. Everything was fresh and delicious! The staff was super friendly and very helpful, and the atmosphere was comfortable and charming. We’ll definitely go back again!

Absolutely cute inside feels so home like staff is wonderful. If you knew the owners of Big Sky, you’ll be happy to know these owners are family friends of theirs and Big Sky owner did retired.
