The service was friendly! We walked in without a reservation and the hostess asked if we were willing to wait 5 minutes for a no-show. Her intuition was great because we got seated soon after! The server was also friendly and helpful. He iterated the specials from memory. We ordered two fettuccine dishes, one was a seafood special and the other was a mixed meat option. Both tasted heavy on the salt. Not much flavor otherwise. The pasta itself didn’t taste very fresh either. The complementary bread and olive dip though was fantastic! We loved those the most. There were probably tastier things on the menu to order but at least the bread and servers pulled through.

One of the best restaurants on the central coast! Fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection. Cocktails are delicious, extensive local wine list. Service is excellent. We will continue to enjoy Buona Tavola for lunch and dinner and highly recommend for any occasion!

Excellent family run Italian restaurant in Paso Robles. Been around for years and consistently good. Good homemade pastas, especially the tortellini. Overall food is northern Italian Piedmont style. Small intimate setting, casual. (can get loud in dining room if you are unlucky and seated near a bridal party or something like that! )

A friend and I had lunch today at Buona Tavola. This was the fourth time I’ve eaten there and each time it was a disappointment. We each order a ceasar salad that came out drowning in a watery chopped tomato topping that one could only assume was left over bruschetta from the day before. I ordered the special which included shrimp and “Alaska crab” in a creamy tomato sauce and my friend ordered the scampi ravioli. I specifically asked if I had to shell the crab and was told it was delicious, from the claw and no it came shelled. What arrived was an oddly mushy sauce with a few shrimp on pasta. I asked if there was crab in my dish and was told yes… what made the sauce mushy … I can only guess… was the crab but it was unidentifiable. The dish was bland and unpleasantly textured. My friend’s ravioli was mushy and could have been stuffed with anything. The gelato was delicious.
