Little restaurant tucked away. The restaurant had a decen environment and was open a little later than most other local places. Our waitress was great with suggestions! The Wisconsin cheese curds were great! The steak tasted great, but was a little more cooked than I ordered. They do prime rib special daily and it’s a big hit! Would recommend. Also prices were fair.

Excellent service and good food. Pork chop was grilled perfectly and chicken breast with wild rice was very tasty. Good recommendations on beer from local brewery. The exterior and location almost turned us away but we would have missed a great meal! Judging the dinner guests, I would guess it’s well patronized by the locals who know good food. Would stop again.

Awesome place to eat! We were greeted by Mo when we walked up to the door. She made a fuss over us (we were the only customers – after lunch/before dinner). She gave great recommendations, all of which we took. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection! We loved the fried cauliflower! Thank you Mo for welcoming us to Decorah, Iowa!!!

What a sweet little restaurant! We were staying at a nearby hotel and the kids got hungry after swimming, so we walked over. It’s small, warm and inviting. They were so great with a bunch of hungry kids and adults. The waitress was sweet and accommodating. The food was great, everyone left full and happy.

Not very impressed with Stone Hearth. Had a beer and ordered another. They said they ran out of what I was having. Huh? Salad was fresh and crisp. Had a ribeye steak that lacked flavor and the hash browns were slightly burnt. No wonder the parking lot had only three cars in it.

The four of us stopped today for lunch after visiting the hatchery and the eagles. The waitress was very friendly and personable. Lunch arrived quite quickly… the special was hot roast beef sandwich with mashed. The beef was sooooo tender and tasty! Also, the ham & bean soup was excellent!

Service was good. Prime rib was very tuff and no flavor. Neither waiters or owner/cook seem to know what an end cut of prime rib is. My husband talked to owner who claims to have been cooking prime rib for 35 years. If using canned green beans, you may want to add something to them. We will not be going back again. Owner offered free steak dinner on our next visit but took no information on us for another visit. Sounds like just lip service.

Ordered the special – prime rib. I must say it was the worst piece of meat I’ve ever had. Ordered it medium rare. It came out pretty much raw! And it was like chewing rubber. My wife’s prime rib was fine. I ate about two bites of it and couldn’t eat any more it so rubber like!

Had a very good steak and salad. The service was excellent. We will be back again. Slightly dated atmosphere adds to the charm. I can see this being a monthly haunt. Its about an hour from home for me but worth it.

Great food at a reasonable price. Comfy upstairs dining (including fireplace) or casual downstairs dining with bar. If you are looking for fancy and formal keep driving. If you are looking for classic homestyle food with a great variety on the menu and friendly service I would give this place a try. We have never been disappointed.
