I ordered stew chicken and white rice. Food was hardly edible, would of been better off eating a seat belt. Make sure you check your receipt they over charged me. I didn’t noticed until I got home calling them immediately. They told me to come in to get a refund. Once I came into the store the next day they then proceeded to tell me I had to wait until Monday for the manager. I wound not return to the store to purchase a set of utensils.

I had the jerk chicken and white rice/w curry gravy. The rice was mushy Like couscous. I don’t know what the other stuff tastes Like but I’ll never eat it again you get one timeTo impress me with your cooking

This restaurant has improved with taste, but it doesn’t have the jerk flavor, especially with the pork. The excuse is that everyone doesn’t like it hot. One of the main ingredients of jerk seasoning is the scotch bonnet pepper. It isn’t jerk chicken. If you don’t, have the pepper in the flavor or seasoning. Don’t ask for us to pay for the hot sauce. The cashier needs to understand that it’s a jerk flavor, not roasted or baked flavor, provide hot sauce if you are not going to put that flavor in the seasoning.

Been coming here for YEARS. The food is great but the staff in the front is rude.. seems as if they ONLY want jamaican public to come. I may be wrong but they def made me feel like they judge race. You call and they tell you to call back in 10 mins because she can’t take the order. How do they manage to keep customers..

Tropical jerk At Baldwin is one of my faves go to for dinner. It can get very busy and the wait can be tiring but staff is nice. I usually get either oxtail or jerk chicken dark meat only. Dark meat only option is only available up to a certain time but yea I’ll definitely keep going to this tropical jerk.

I’m not going back to this restaurant every time I buy jerk chicken the portion is significant less today. I bought a half a pound of jerk chicken and I did not receive a half pound jerk chicken. This is ridiculous. This is why you can’t support black businesses it’s just never ending.

I have been ordering weekly from Tropical Jerk in Baldwin since they opened and I really enjoyed the food. However, recently I have noticed that the quality and quantity of the food has changed. This review was prompted by weeks of disappointment and my recent order yesterday. I ordered jerk chicken and snapper, both orders of jerk chicken were severely burnt all over, hard, dry crispy burnt and not edible. Maybe this burnt chicken was a one off, but that condition of chicken should have been noticed and thrown away, instead of served to customers. The chicken also has not been having its nice marinated jerk flavor, for a while. Maybe the chef is different. Staff turnover is very high at this site. The staff is only friendly and approachable to their friends, not to overall customers, which is unfortunate. Also, the peas and rice which I love, hardly had any peas and was mainly rice. The snapper was good, it’s fried, could be spicy, it lacked spicy flavor. There are lots of food items that I love ordering such as the curry goat, oxtails and snapper fish. Although prices have increased for food items, they are not outrageous, however portion sizes and quality of some food items have reduced significantly. I hope this restaurant return to serving quality food and see the value of engaging in positive customer relationships. This is my family’s weekly go to food spot! I love the almost like home cooked meals and supporting local black owned business in my community.

The older woman with glasses at the counter. Had a nasty attitude as if someone was begging her for something. Their jerk white meat was dry af and gave me indigestion. Terrible. Jamaican customer service need to improve.
