We started as a family business that first opened our door in 2003. Calling ourselves as just Yama at the time, we only had four tables, truly being just a hole in the wall. Through an arduous process of many trials and errors, Andy Chen was able to perfect the now YamaChen menu to that we know today. Each day, for our customers, Andy Chen brainstormed ways to improve the quality of our food, from our in house sauce to our fish providers, creating the signature YamaChen rolls that solidify our place in the restaurant sphere. He believes that his success is due to his motto: Freshness, Sincerity, and Generosity.

Overall a great lunch, the server gave us a few freebies (edamame, some fried dough) it was quite slow in there. Delicious sushi and rolls the eel is my favorite the inside was well decorated and super clean which is always nice. Reasonable prices and a lunch menu until 3!

This sushi is DELICIOUS. The sticky rice is perfect too! Each roll I’ve had has been thick and full of ingredients. I usually get a volcano roll and an earthquake roll and would highly recommend them both. The volcano isn’t that spicy, which I like )but if you need spicy, you should ask for more). The rolls aren’t huge like at some sushi places, but I’ve never felt like I didn’t get my monies worth. They always give you free cheesecake and/or a free roll of some kind. The delivery is cheap too! And the delivery and to-go packaging is nice and secure and keeps the sushi well separated and contained.

I am not a fan of sushi, but my husband and son are. They absolutely love this place. If you can go during the week and take advantage of their “lunchbox” special, you won’t be disappointed. We have been given complimentary sushi rolls at every visit. The atmosphere is quite cozy and well decorated. Gina helped me find something on the menu that I absolutely love (shrimp yakisoba), since I’m not a fan of sushi. The food is always presented very nicely.

A beautiful newly renovated building for this already charming sushi shop! Super delicious food with a really great lunch special. I come with my fam all the time and they always throw us something on the house. All the rolls have great flavor and the fish is always fresh. The atmosphere is also very Japanese with the tranquil music and newly renovated decor.

Well priced, great service and overall hospitality, pretty tasty. One complaint is it wasn’t as high quality as you might hope for with something like raw fish. This was only noticeable in the sashimi since it’s undressed. I could have just tried it on an off day though. If you’re looking for a sushi fix on a budget with good variety I still would recommend this establishment.
