Stickball Special

Cancro Special
Provolone, roast beef and pepperoni. In the summer of ’74, the Pepsi delivery man requested a curious combination of provolone, roast beef, and pepperoni. Peter Cancro’s brother, John, liked the sandwich so much, he gave it the family name and a menu spot of its own.

This pl place as killer subs. The gentleman who made my sandwich was very friendly and I was asking questions about deals on sandwiches and he was full of information. I wish I had more money in my wallet because I would have given a tip. But I didn’t and I got my daughter a child’s sandwich with all the toppings that she likes. I liked the meatball sandwich. The meatballs were very good and so was the marinara sauce, and their cheese is awesome I will eat time. Their cold sandwiches are nice too on a hot day. And they are very fast the guy at this location was exceptionally fast and the place was very clean. It was important to me in a time like this to have clean and proper precautions, and good quality food is also important

I went to get a classic club sandwich and told the young man that was assisting me that I was highly allergic to Avocados (I know, so sad). He immediately took his gloves off, washed his hands, and told me to give him a minute. He returned a few minutes later with a sheet tray covered in fresh sandwich paper, he put fresh gloves in front of me and proceeded to assemble my sandwich making sure he didn’t touch anything else. He even used the mayo from a bottle, instead of the one on the cool table, to avoid cross contamination. He was so nice and understanding and he really went the extra way. He took my allergy seriously instead of making me feel bad, like most other places do. I am ver grateful to him and to the whole staff at the Fountain Valley store for the kindness they showed.

Great staff! Very friendly and helpful. It was my girlfriend’s first visit to a Jersey Mike’s, my second. We both had questions about the sandwiches which the staff seemed genuinely happy to answer. They even offered samples of the meats we’d never heard of. The sandwiches were very tasty, though quite a bit more costly than say Subway. But so much better than Subway!

It is sad to say that this location is literally right behind my house. Every time I call in there is a 30 to 45 minute wait time to pick up an order for two sandwiches. And when I do decide to wait that long I get a sandwich that is smooshed up into what looks like a burrito. I wish I could give this location zero stars and maybe perhaps then they might learn from their reviews and do better for their very loyal customers

as far as sandwich places goes, this is one of the best in the area. the crew is nice and knowledable. service is fast and they keep their store fairly clean. when you get one of these in the neighborhood, subway becomes a tough sell.
