Martha’s Mexican Restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Decided to stop in for lunch after seeing them advertising online and our usual go to Mexican food place was closed for the day. Slightly disappointed that you have to pay for chips and salsa but regardless we did, the queso was good, it was hot and had a nice taste to it. The salsa itself was very reminiscent of tomato sauce – add some spicy sauces to it and it became edible. My wife got two Mexican steak tacos for lunch and I opted for the quesadilla (I decided on plain cheese). Everything came out promptly which is always nice especially if you’re hangry and everything did come to the table hot. The rice was exceptionally bland, the beans weren’t much better but the cheese on top atleast tasted of something. The cheese quesadilla was good – but how much can you really complain about pure cheese? My wife said the steak tacos like everything else was very bland. I will give good reviews where they are due but this experience was just not that. The staff were friendly so I will give them that however we will not be returning.

This place was really tasty and the service was excellent. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of the entire time (constantly refilling my drink, giving me to go containers for my sauces). I got the quesabirria tacos and added rice and beans. They definitely don’t skimp you with the amount of meat in the taco. I also got chips and salsa. Very good!

Food and service was great. Love that it’s family owned. Had a quesobirria tacos and my husband (who is a picky eater) had a steak burrito with rice, cheese, and a little bit of lettuce. He said they got it right, which is hard to do. Would go back

The restaurant is comfortable, but don’t have the decos if you care about that. The prices are great and service is excellent, as well as the food. The portion is generous. There is a Taco Bell right in front of them, but don’t see the reason why you want Taco Bell if you can have an authentic Mexican food for very reasonable prices.

This is the my new favorite Mexican restaurant in St. Pete. The food is believable, authentic and flavorful. The restaurant is spotless. Our food came out quickly and it was very well presented. A friend and I split carnitas nachos and they were amazing, lots of delicious ingredients and plenty of jalapeños. My friend had the tamales and they looked delicious but he was too stingy to give me a bite. My chile rellenos were so incredible — not the overblown, overstuffed, American style, instead these were simply delicious with just the right amount of heat and an amazing sauce, which was a riff on ranchero … I’m telling you they were the best I have ever eaten (and I lived in San Diego for 10 years and spent a bunch of time in Baja).

Wasn’t for me. There’s so many great reviews that I wonder if I caught them on an off night. Food was fine but sort of bland. They had this orange hot sauce that was super good. But the salsa for their chips tasted like marinara. Staff was super friendly though.

Delicious birra tacos, flavourful meat, fresh onions and cilantro, the red salsa was really hot and so good! Do not skip on their mangolada! Great flavour, will definitely be back.
