I purchased the Ox tail rice and grave macaroni and cheese and cabbage and it was absolutely delicious. It was a lot of food. It didn’t taste like mamas but if can’t get to moms this is a delicious second best.

Inviting Southern cuisine restaurant with a delicious selection of sandwiches, main entreé, sides, desserts and beverages. I do not feel that my wait is very long whenever I place my take-out order with the friendly counter staff and I notice several customers, come in to pick up their orders and they smile and chat with the staff as well. Orders are cash only, you pay right after ordering and there is an ATM provided in the waiting area if needed. My food is always packaged very well and everything I have ever ordered has a wonderful aroma and tastes great!

Not sure if this is the only soul food place in jersey city but if it is , sheesh.. restaurant itself needs a serious revamp. Outdated interior & has a funny smell . Don’t know what be on the Mac & cheese that it look like that. Hours are ridiculous.

Placed an order at 12:50 to pick up and was told it would be an hour wait ( no problem) . When we arrived we had to wait an additional 45min and wound up canceling the order. Other customers also had to endure the long wait. Maybe we will try another day.

First my food was cold the pork chop was over fried like it was cooked the day before plus they was nasty macaroni was mushy and over cooked noodles rice and gravy was salty..will never order from this place again tried several times you get a voice mail the cook should be shame of terrible food
