It seemed a popular local restaurant. We were visiting from another state, and arrived after 8pm. There was one patron before us, and two more after us. For late dinner, we could choose large or medium box of four different entrees. Jerk chicken brown stew was our best choice. Jerk chicken was special and delicious itself, but we did not like the sauce on it. Chicken curry was very tasty. Oxtail was cooked thoughtfully and in a strong sauce. There were about 20+ seats inside.

So I have been going to this place for months and the food there is absolutely amazing. So I’m not going to even knock them on the food, the place is clean, well organized, and decent prices for the food. But today left a real nasty taste in my mouth, I’m not sure who the new cashier person is but she has a very nasty attitude and it can be much of a turn off from not looking to patron there anymore. Her responses were so off putting, short, and snappy. I ordered a curry chicken meal and simply wanted another piece of plantain which I did not think would break the bank or their inventory. She really looked at me and said I have to pay for a side order of plantain just because I asked for an additional piece. She gave me a whole pan of rice and barely wanted to give me gravy for the rice. I really don’t understand why people have an attitude with the individuals that help to keep their establishment open as we patronize their. So the food is great but the service especially in recent times is horrible.

Food is low quality. Meat has lots of fat, either over cooked or raw. Customer Service Is Terrible. They messed up my order and when I call to get it fixed they offer no solution. Messed up literally my entire order and I was just given run arounds instead of money back or an exchange. Way better spots for Caribbean food in queens than here. Definitely would not recommend to anyone who wants their moneys worth.

I brought Mac & Cheese and it has no taste and no cheese in it. The only cheese that was on top of it

This is my go to spot especially for the boiled dumplings , the corner restaurant is perfect to grab a bite to eat and sit by the river at one of the local park, especially when the sun starts to set. The food is good and gets better, their a older woman who gives off auntie/ family vibes, making sure you’re plate is full, The youths that work their I hope adapt to that same flow.

Small unassuming Jamaican restaurant. I had the curried goat with red beans and rice. It was delicious and full of flavor. Spicy, but not too. Lots of cinnamon in the rice dish which complimented the curry. Friendly people that take pride in their food. I’d come back.

I’m a tourist visiting New York. I have been wanting to try Jamaican food for a while. The lady that took care of us was great. Also, FYI this place will be changing its name to I believe ” Pine and Ginger.” The curry chicken was delicious. It came with some cabbage, rice with what they call peas ( beans), and a piece of plantain. I also had, I believe was tea with watermelon. It was so good. The vibe was nice it was a cool little spot. Will definitely try again when I come visit.

This food is phenomenal, I always get great customer service from everyone there. This is authentic jamaican food feels like i am in montego bay at my friends Anna Kayes kitchen eating Sunday Dinner. The oxtails are to die for. The rice is delicious the cabbage is so good. I work at Riker’s and this is my to go lunch spot. Its well worth the price.

I’ve been ordering from this place for a few years now. And it’s ALWAYS SOMETHING. They are the epitome of the stereotype of a Caribbean/west indian restaurant that has good food but just can’t get the service side down.
