Wow! Lou’s is incredible. Ordered here for the first time since moving to Marin and I can’t believe we didn’t come sooner. Everything is unique, seasoned incredibly, and just straight delicious! I would recommend Lou’s to anyone – it is perfectly authentic. Lou is also so kind – gave us his dads homemade plum jam to try. A local gem – best spot we’ve visited in Marin thus far!

The literal meaning of the hole in the wall place but actually being a small shack with just about few people serving up some of the most delicious food and the experience of it. Either call them up for pick up or order at the window. The pork belly was super delicious with the mix of vegetables and crab papaya salad so fresh and uniquely different with the right amount of spicy sauce as a dressing makes up for a small quaint maybe even eclectic place to enjoy scrumptious meal.

Best experience in San Rafael. Food was phenomenal and the staff celebrated our first time there with a bell and a song. Amazing! Everyone that went were repeat customers and locals and felt like a family vibe amongst everyone there. Would come back on the regular!

I just took the exit off the hwy, on my way over to Slingshot’s house for our monthly dinner when the Slingshot called and said “stop at Lou’s Takeaway Restaurant and pick up our order, it’ll be ready in 10 minutes”

It took a pandemic to get us out of our Saturday lunch rut. We’d been wanting to try Lou’s and suddenly it was the only place nearby to get a meal. We’ve hardly eaten anywhere else since ! The flavors! The freshness, quality, and overall deliciousness! Generous portions and great service. This kind of excellence is truly rare!

The kind of food that tastes as good as it looks. Followed the friendly front person’s suggestion of the pork roast, it was melt in the mouth. Every aspect of the dish, from the salad dressing to the flavor packed rice, was incredible. The carrot turmeric soup was super rich, creamy, and hearty. 10 stars out of 5. Would drive far out of my way for this spot.

What a great little spot! Every meal I’ve had here (which is over 15 times or so) has left me in awe by the creative combinations and delicious flavors. The menu is constantly rotating so there’s always something new to try. All of the food is fresh and cooked to perfection! Anthony and Eric are such down to earth and sweet people and they’ve always got great tunes playing. Don’t look any further come here and you’ll be hooked!
