Kayuk are terrible, there noodle are stiff and dry very bad to eat. There lunch plate, is bad kayuk, are not pork belly,they use pork butt!! Very hard to chew very dry and not flavorful, and lunch plate I couldn’t eat the food on there so I dumped the plate in the rubbish can. My family and I will never go there again and waste our hard working money for terrible food..

For over 30yrs, I’ve known GOLDEN CITY CHINESE RESTAURANT to serve one of the best Cantonese style Chinese dishes in Honolulu. Located just blocks down from Kamehameha Shopping Center on N School Street and on the corner of Houghtailing Street they once shared the area with Chevron, today Texeco Service Station.

I’ve been coming to Golden City for over 10 years, one of the best Chinese food. Came in today, older Chinese lady is always rude, but I come for the food so I usually ignore her bad service. Today, we find a black hair in our roast pork so we brought it to the Chinese lady’s attention and she had the audacity to laugh in the kitchen with her coworkers and come back out and tell us that me and my mom intentionally put hair in the food. Worst customer service ever. I will not be returning from this point on.

My husband likes the gau gee min. The vegetables are cooked perfectly. The gau gee and noodles are tasty. He also likes the dinner plate. Their rice cakes are good too. Nice servers.
