From the silent traveler to all of you. This is the famous Gus’s chicken in Memphis. Memphis is known for a lot of things good history good people the food but there is definitely one place you need to stop at and that is Gus’s. I was told about this place and had to check it out myself The name of the restaurant speaks for itself. The chicken is beyond delicious and juicy. Could not get enough of it to compliment the chicken that is one of the best macaroni and cheese I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Almost better than mine when I make it at home. It almost seems like that macaroni and cheese was cooked on a grill. The season was just right and added enough cheese to make it juicy but not overwhelming. And the fried okra definitely spot on. I will tell you if you are a super healthy eater this place is not for you but if you want some good feel like you’re back home with your mama this is the place to go. The service was nice and friendly seem like family you ain’t seen in a long time almost like a family reunion. As I tell a lot of people don’t take my word for it go down to Gus’s for yourself check it out and let me know what you think. From the silent travel to all of you be well be safe be positive.

I ordered a 3pcs all white meal with fries and mac & Cheese. It comes with light . If you want more, you will need to ask. This chicken has a very nice taste to it. I was very pleased with the taste. All of the food that I ordered was good. It was done as and it was crispy. They weren’t too friendly, though.

I was in town on a Business Trip. I am from Louisiana. This chicken was pretty good but not the best I’ve had. I ordered a 3 piece chicken plate with beans, coleslaw, with mac and cheese. I had the fried green tomatoes and a peach pie. My favorite item was the peach pie. The fried tomatoes were not my favorite and the Mac and cheese was ok. The service was good and food was prepared quickly. For someone that’s not from Louisiana, this is a good alternative. For me everything was just ok. I may be spoiled with Louisiana food. Lol ‍♀️

I’d you think KFC is good, then, Gus‘s famous Fried chicken will blow your mind. It has such a thin crispy crust. That is so delicious with a hint of kick but the meat is super tender and delicious. It’s not overly salty. It’s just perfect and I have to say that their slaw was the best for me, though it was really refreshing and crisp and simple and delicious and traditional. The restaurant had a very cute design well put together the wait staff were friendly and helpful. The food came out quickly. The price was very affordable.

It’s been 15 years since I last ate at Gus’s in downtown Memphis. In town for business and I just knew I needed a fix. Placed my order via DoorDash. It was delivered within 30 minutes and was more delicious than I remembered. Why did I wait so long to return? Anyway, ordered a 3pc white with baked beans, slaw, and a tea. The chicken was full of flavor, juicy, and has just the right amount of spice. Baked beans were great and the slaw is just how I like it. Creamy with a hint of sweet to it. If you are in the area and have a hankering for fried chicken, you must try Gus’s!!
