Rafa’s Cafe Mexicano Menu – Dallas, TX

Type : Tex-Mex restaurant

Location : Dallas, TX

Serving delicious Mexican food since 1975! Our dining rooms feature cozy, bright and festive colors, with the feel of a tropical cafe. Rafa’s Cafe is family oriented and child-friendly with a relaxed and casual atmosphere where you will feel at home. When I opened my first restaurant “Raphael’s”, my sweet mother (Andrea) came into the kitchen to show us her recipes. Hence: 75% of the recipes on our menu are hers. Thanks Mom! #rafasCafeDfw

Rafa’s Café Mexicano always delivers! My absolute favorite dish is the Steve’s Steak Tacos. My mouth waters just thinking about it! It is the absolute best AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant in the Dallas/Park Cities area next to my mother-in-law’s kitchen. If you’ve never been GO… IMMEDIATELY!

The house margaritas were unbelievable, very tasty. The enchiladas plate had ground meat, not meat paste. I had not been there in 15 years because we moved to the other side of town. This is my old / new favorite Mexican restaurant. I will be back.

Went to the bar. Dirty dishes and old chips at every abandoned seat. Ordered two top shelf margaritas and they were horrible. I asked for an extra shot and they clearly replaced the top shelf tequila with something else, because the margaritas were awful. The bartender vanished 75% of the time. Service was non existent. That $0 tip the got today was most definitely from me. Never going back.

This used to be one of my favorite places, but this last visit wasn’t great and the GM/Manager never returned my call. I don’t want to say anything too negative about the restaurant, but I will say check the price of a margarita before you order it. They don’t have the prices on the menu – a Patron Margarita (which was not Patron and some nasty mix) was $14.50 and my friend’s skinny margarita was $17.50 because the server said they use real lime juice… I am in the industry and if I am ever going to pay that price for lime and tequila, it is going to be one of the best margaritas I have had. We walked across the street to Odelay and paid $13 and then to Escondido after and paid $16 and those were worth the price. Robbery on their margaritas.

Not only their food is amazing , their customer service is perfect. Because of this pandemic we usually seat out door, as they did not have available seat for us , the manager was so kind and brought us another table for the outdoor so we could seat , eat our food and enjoy the weather. You can’t go wrong with the beef fajita the taste is amazing . We will come back

This is our weekly, sometimes biweekly spot. Joe is our waiter and knows exactly what we want as soon as he sees our faces! Sophie and Joe are like family, but their entire staff is very attentive! The food is our favorite TexMex and haven’t ever had better!

It is a good Tex-Mex restaurant. I will probably go back from time to time. If you like the classical tex-Mex dishes, you will definitely like this restaurant. I would not say there is much new or different than the usual, so do not expect any new “mind-blowing” flavors or ingredient combinations.

Good basic TexMex, great service but a little disappointed, was excited they had puffy tacos and advertised “San Antonio” style mexican. They do not have San Antonio style puffy tacos. They have Dallas style puffed tostadas

Surprisingly good! Overall experience was amazing. Staff friendly and on top of everything. By the way parking facing lovers lane is available parking even though its shows to be reserved for other businesses. Rafa’s has a sign posted on their door confirming this.

Excellent food…we had fajitas, puffy taco, cheese taco and cheese enchiladas. All was really good. Salsa is spicy but really good. Meat was seasoned well and very tender.
