My two kids and I went there today to get breakfast. We got two pancakes, two pieces of French toast both with bacon eggs, two biscuits and a bowl of gravy and we waited an hour before we told the waitress. We would like the bill and we’ll go ahead and pay for our drinks and leave. within 30 seconds, they brought out our food and asked us if we would like to stay. I did not see our waitress after that and prior to getting our food. We only saw a waitress ones. I know this is a small diner, but none of the waitresses or staff had the courtesy to even look or talk to us when they gave us the bill or discuss what had just happened. The food was about like waffle house food it was OK but that’s all we were looking for Justin OK small town diner breakfast as we live in Pleasant view Tennessee and are used to small town town diners. That is the first time I had been to Mama D’s and I don’t plan on going back. I’m not saying you shouldn’t go but understand that this is a risk. Also, for reference this restaurant was not that busy it’s not like we were one of hundreds of people gathering in front to eat they were maybe 15 patrons. Thank you and have a blessed day.

The food was fabulous! Husband got Mama D’s skillet and I got biscuit and gravy and French toast. Seasoned well and cooked to perfection. This was our first visit, but definitely not our last.

Came out to try this place for the first time and we waited over 40 mins before we just decided to leave. It should never take over 40 mins, and hour, or longer to get served at a restaurant. They seem to have some serious inefficiencies in the kitchen. We asked at 40 mins how much longer it would be and they said they still had 3 more orders ahead of us. I’m my opinion, that level of wait time is unacceptable. They only good thing is they didn’t ask us to pay for the drinks we had when we decided to just leave.

Used to be good. There is a sign advising it isn’t fast food, fine. Waited over an hour, and two people in my party ended up violently ill after we ate. Did not inform us that they were out of certain items and subbed without informing us. It’s a shame because this place used to be good before they moved.

Food was great as always. Service completely sucked. Took forever to get my food. It was just me and was there over an hour. The server was more interested in socializing than tending to her customers. Couldn’t get a refill. Had to go to the register to pay bill because I was tired of waiting for check. This place is very overpriced as well.

Visited their new location first time yesterday and love the location. But we weren’t served our food until an hour and 35 minutes after we gave order and only after we asked about our food order. Half of our table was served their food about an hour into our wait. Others who came in after us were served before us. The couple behind our table walked out as they were tired of waiting. We even had to ask for coffee refills three times while we waited. Our experience yesterday was so out of character for this place for the many times we’ve visited in the last 3 yrs., that we will go there one more time to see if it was just an off day for them. But if we experience that again, it’s not worth the 35 min drive anymore.

Had the number one with country ham, they need to give you a pillow with it. Because you will need a nap if you can finish all that great food. Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and eggs. Well worth the money and great service!!!

Mama ds has always been my go to for breakfast. They moved into a new building three weeks ago and have had some NORMAL hiccups getting acclimated. While I understand the frustration of waiting for a while to get your food, I also like to give grace to a hard working small business trying to survive. If it takes me 45 minutes to cook breakfast for my family, I don’t expect or WANT it to take any less when I go out to eat. Yes they can freeze your food the night before and get it out to you faster but then you won’t have good food. It is cook to order. If you don’t want fresh food, go to Macdonald, sit in the drive thru for 20 minutes, and get your heat lamp warm biscuits. If you want hot fresh home cooked food, it comes with a slight, but worth it, wait. I was there today and was out the door within an hour with my family full. Thank you mama ds for giving us a good breakfast option.

Found this place when we were visiting family nearby. Mama D was serving coffee when we walked in. “Sit wherever you like!” It was all family style seating and we sat with a family of three that were obviously regular customers. The atmosphere was incredibly inviting and then we got our menus and coffee. I ordered the Mama D skillet which had three meats, lots of veggies, eggs and cheese and all were set atop of country potatoes. I had my eggs over easy and they were perfect. The runny yolk seeped through and this was the best skillet breakfast I’ve ever had. The LOML had biscuits and gravy with country potatoes and a side of bacon. Absolutely the best gravy ever! We will be eating here again whenever we are in this area.
