If it wasn’t for Sarah this review would be have been 3 stars. I will not give all the details but will say that no one came to our table to wait on us, until we went and asked to be served. (There was only 2 other groups in the restaurant at the time)

We enjoyed our experience, the atmosphere, and the food. We got the sampler and fried pickles. The pulled pork, brisket, and ribs were on point and Long Islands – tasty. My son ate two full orders of their fries. The best part was how the owner and staff make you feel. There is a cook named Carlton who made me feel like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Almost heaven – West Virginia.

We had a great meal here.. Everything we had was delicious and our server Emily was great. I particularly loved the chopped pork and fried corn, but my fav thing might have been the jalapeño cheddar sausage. Soooo moist and juicy and delicious. Will definitely go back when in the area. The restaurant is also large with plenty of seating, a very nice outdoor area, and gorgeous decor.

Stopped in for some BBQ while traveling through Morgantown. Started out with some brisket nachos and enjoyed them. Ribs had a good smoked taste and were easy coming off the bone. The fried corn was delicious too. Would love to stop in on a college game day Saturday, the atmosphere must be electric.

My SO and I visited the resturaunt on the 2nd day of business, as tourists we had no experience at the previous occupant (the Winchester). Food was good, BBQ and meat tasted quality and fresh. Beer tap selection was unique and varied nicely. Whiskey selection was vast with some classy bottles. Sides were hot, fresh, and of mostly good size. The one downside is that the pricing for the sampler you get charged more for ordering ribs and brisket.

The service was good, the atmosphere was good. If you drink they have a huge bar with a really big selection. I’m not a drinker so I went for the food, The food was just okay. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t nothing to brag about for those prices, with the exception of the steak. The steak was very good.

Welcoming and exceptional staff! This restaurant is located very close to a trauma 1 medical center, Ruby’s Memorial Hospital. Also attached to a hotel. As an out of towner here for a medical reason, I appreciate the dim lighting, wrap around bar and the warm professionalism from the staff. The food is very good but the coleslaw is exceptional. If coleslaw is on the menu, I try it. I didn’t venture into the meat and bones here although one should! The pricing is much lower than nearby Mexican and Italian. The relaxing vibe is much needed after a long time at the hospital! If you go, get a side of coleslaw!

Smoking J’s catered our wedding and it was perfect! They set up and made serving super easy. The food was fair priced and the BEST bbq we’ve had. Seriously, so many compliments. We are still having people tell us how they’ve never had anything as good as them. There is no comparison. Fantastic service!!!

Was a little disappointed in this place. The food was very good, highly recommend the Medallions with blue cheese butter. The bourbon menu is par for the area. The tables and dinning room were clean. The staff just made the experience not the best. Very slow to get us seated even with no line or crowded conditions. Three waiters were visible with nine tables with guest, yet they were slow to tend tables and forgetful. Would like to visit again if they were to get a better trained staff.
