The Dining Grandpa
Golden corral will always be a favorite place of ours for many reasons. You will not find a better bargain for the price. One of the only places a family with children can still afford. We stopped again today 8/1 for a late lunch. The have remodeled a bit since we were here last. If you love vegetables, fish, chicken, roast etc… American staples you have arrived at your destination. Buffet style dining “all you can eat” Nice salad bar and bakery! Can be very crowded sometimes with plenty of parking. Enjoy! I recommend the fried chicken, catfish and the mini hamburgers if you can get them fresh of the grill. The buns on the mini burgers get hard if they sit long. 8-22-23 visit. Salad bar is awesome, fried chicken very good, meatloaf above average and some veggies were tasty. Most items that should have been hot were cold and many quite tasteless. We arrived at opening time, 11:00 am, so perhaps the food warmers hadn’t reached temp yet. I definitely had stomach problems later in the day. A reaction I usually have to MSGs. All in all a so so visit. Oh by the way, our server was excellent. So attentive with out being bothersome. I haven’t been to the Corral since the eastside location closed and used to love the breakfast. I will give them another chance in a month or two.

We had a good visit. Getting drink refills was a challenge. No spoons were provided. We had to use plastic ones from the ice cream area. The furniture and tables were run down and should be replaced. The table catties for condiments were in bad shape. The restroom was clean. The parking lot was well maintained.

Update: 8/28/23 – Not so cold inside. Good food & good service. Great value. 7/06/23 – FREEZING COLD inside. Turn down the air conditioner! Needed a jacket & still cold (while hot outside). An older guy sitting next to us complained about being cold too. No rotisserie chicken today. ▶ We sat by the dessert line & music playing back there was too loud. Not a good visit today. /June 2023 Delicious & a great value. May 2023 – No more pork chops at lunch, but plenty of other choices. The lunch price for Seniors is an excellant value on weekdays. /Feb. 2023 – I got there at 3:00 & no pork chops up. I called over to the worker asking if they had any & he yelled, “Frozen!” /The grilled pork chops at lunch were delicious. I also like the meatloaf, rotisserie chicken, & the turkey in gravy. / Great food at a great price. Nice variety. I love the homemade meatloaf & homemade mashed potatoes. The carrot cake was very fresh, moist & delicious. They have a reduced price for seniors (over 60) Mon – Fri for lunch. This is one of my favorite restaurants.

We had a wonderful dinner at the Golden Corral Buffet. The best part was the service from Allan our delightful server. Allan was so on point with over & above service. He was so talented in keeping the tables clean and when he moved the drinking glasses from the dining area it was an “oh Wow” moment. Allan is truly a “Classy (((Glassy))) Guy”! They get busy so don’t expect a pristine dining room during dinner rush. Certain food stations were more appetizing than others and silverware wasn’t available with flatware. The staff was nice and the food was filling.

Positives here was service, easy to help yourself, cold salad bar and cleanliness of the restaurant. Negatives was for food quality, taste. Seemed much of hot items were laden with margarine, and seasoned a bit much (pork, salt) for my preference. Not for everyone’s kind of liking.
