Nice atmosphere and great service. I had a good French 75, people at my table ordered mojitos and had to ask for simple syrup. TV dinner was great, but it’s different day to day. Other than that, other people at table ordered French dip and the pastrami sandwiches, liked them! Great restaurant overall!

Food is great but their sign says they close at 10. Someone yelled from the parking lot at me, “they’re closed!” I said are you speaking to me? It was so rude. I said it says 10 and I only want a dessert. “You can go in but they are cleaning and they are closed.” There were customers still in the restaurant, mind you. So. I took my Black self inside to ask if I could get a dessert because not only does google say they close at 10, but so does the door. “We’re closed!” said the bartender as I’m walking past customers. I said I don’t wish to be seated. I was only interested in a dessert and it says you’re open til 10. That’s a mistake. Ok so you have a mistake on Google AND your door? Right. A whole 30 minutes early and I can’t get a dessert. This restaurant is in my neighborhood and I actually once liked it but I won’t be back. When I think of it, I heard they don’t particularly care for my kind anyway.

The staff was extremely friendly, but we had a confusing visit. They sat us at a table and said they had a the table reserved for 2 hours after we sat down. We didn’t think it would be an issue, but it did end up taking an hour and a half for the food to come out. Then when they did bring the food out they had forgotten the petite salad for my young niece. Not a huge deal, but the shrimp was really bad. Bad enough that I would recommend patrons avoid the shrimp. The shrimp was dry and chewy and smelled spoiled. So from my perspective, these very friendly people didn’t get the child’s salad first, Even though they had served two salads, and the salad they did serve to the child was less than appetizing. Some of the dishes were home runs. The salmon was delicious, the watermelon salad was a treat, but it almost seems like a gamble of what is good. I can’t in good conscious recommend this place. It’s a shame because the staff was so nice. For the prices here, the risk is not worth.

Good place to dine and converse with friends. The Monday special, Lobster and pasta in a light cream sauce was delicious. Others enjoyed the scallops and pasta. Service was great and we could actually hear one another!! Will definitely head there on our next visit to Memphis.

Best dinner I’ve had in a long time! Salmon was excellent! My husband had the short ribs, they were great! Salad & dessert was excellent! Chef took the time to speak to us. Would definitely recommend this place! Our server guided us through a great meal.

I have been to Memphis numerous times and passed right by this restaurant. This was my fault. I will add River Oaks to my favorites lost going forward. This is a great cozy restaurant with a menu for everyone. The service was outstanding and the food was even better.

Second time eating here, always fantastic service, great atmosphere and delicious and beautifully plated foods. We had my mothers 75th birthday here and we brought our one cake. The restaurant staff also bright the cake out with the candles we brought lit, after blowing out the candles they took the cake to the kitchen sliced and plated it and it was a fantastic experience! We enjoyed several bottles of wine, appetizers and exceptional main courses!

Elegant atmosphere, exceptional service and menu with a nice variety. When I say elegant, I do not mean black tie, but you may feel out of place in shorts and a t-shirt for sure. Food is precise, clean plating and every ingredient has a place/purpose. I love it!!
