Outstanding seafood restaurant! A new restaurant in Universal City that has instantly become one of my favorites. I have twice visited this restaurant and enjoyed both meals. My first visit i had the fried shrimp and my second visit the fried oysters. Just great food and very friendly atmosphere. The owner and employees go the extra mile to ensure that their customers have a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend this place!

First visit sure will return. Had the lunch special with catfish. Fish was good not fishy. My other half had the seafood platter, catfish, shrimp and oysters. Everything was good. The place does not have a fishy smell which is a huge factor for me. The only down side was the an employee was eating in the kitchen. We will return.

I ordered 2 fish po boy sandwitches with potato salad and hushpuppies customer service was really good. Now I like my food seasoned well but my fish was bit salty and the potato salad tasted commercial the sweet tea is extremely southern sweet with a small cup size I give it 3 stars because this place I think they my be in a learning curve and I will come back and give it another try.

Catfish was awesome. They ran out of Cole slaw, so I had potato salad and I’m glad because it was delicious. Also had green beans and hush puppies. So good. I ordered to go and it took a little while, but I didn’t mind. They had a dude playing jazz on the keyboard. Staff was polite & friendly & the tunes were incredibly enjoyable. Price is well worth the flavor & portion. Will definitely be back.

Glad we found this small seafood restaurant. I got cod and catfish, coleslaw, and hush puppies. Yum!! Service was great, too. They offer military discount, which is very nice.

This was my first time at the restaurant. When I walked in I was greeted by a friendly and polite young man who addressed me as “sir.” I ordered to go and once my order was ready the young man brought it to the table where I was sitting. I ordered the 2 fish (catfish) and 2 sides (hush puppies and green beans) plate. Everything was well seasoned and the portions were good. The fish was hot and the batter was crispy. The hush puppies were great and had pieces of corn in them. The green beans were good as well. Will definitely return to Shut Yo Mouth.

What am k going to do with 4 pieces of shrimp? And a bunch of burnt oysters that are nothing but the batter! Horrible for the price. The other 4 plates I ordered were the same. Never again.
