We got the fajita Nachos. You have to build it ourselves as they put all the ingredients separate over a bed of tortillas and queso. So you start by taking the ingredients and spreading them over the top.

Authentic food and great margaritas. Friendly staff. The mocajete is delicious! I highly recommend this place. We live 3 hours away but will for sure be back.

This was our first time at this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. A friend that went with us told us of the other location in West Des Moines so we were excited. When we arrived we were able to get a seat right away. They have a very extensive menu with a lot of different options. We each tried something different so we were able to taste a lot of the menu. The food was delicious and hot. From the time we ordered until we were eating was about 15 min. The high light dish was fajitas. We were expecting the traditional sizzling plate with steak and veggies. This was NOT that, the fajitas came inside of a hollowed out pineapple. There were pineapple chunks in a sweet sauce that came on the side. It was probably one of the best items of the night. The only thing I would like to change is after our food came the waiter pretty much forgot about us but that is such a small thing we won’t let it keep us from going back again.

We go here for the price, as it’s the most reasonable in Ankeny while still being quite tasty. The service is quite slow, however, so don’t go when you’re in a hurry. And I wish the chips were either a little more fresh or less fried. Something about them just tastes overdone.

We love making Cancun – Ankeny our “date night” destination. It has a very family friendly atmosphere and the staff is just wonderful. Always gracious and even when they are busy, they are attentive to the tables. Food is always great. Definitely recommend.

We love Cancun. The food, service and atmosphere are amazing. We find ourselves coming back every week in the summer because of their huge patio!

Was our first time here, I had the fajitas, and my husband had the chili verde. Our server seemed really angry to be there, no matter how polite I was or how many times I smiled, there was no change in attitude… it was off-putting.

A nice little Mexican restaurant in a strip mall that offers plenty of seating and a large food menu that makes it hard to pick exactly what to get. They have white cheese dip which goes over great as a starter, and I was about to get carnitas when I spotted the fajitas de Pina, or pineapple fajitas. Intrigued, I ordered it and got half a pineapple filled with a cheesy mass of veggies, shrimp, beef and more, as well as a plate of pineapple pieces drizzled in a spicy salt. Super yummy!

What an great time! The food was delicious! I have the chicken, chorizo and shrimp mean. We also had the mini chimis (both chicken and beef) and the pork wings. The pork wings may be my favorite appetizer I have had anywhere!

$2 margarita Wednesday, chips and salsa on the table right when you arrive. Really good fresh guacamole and vegetarian options on the menu. Great patio as well!
