After going whale-watching, I was looking to eat a late lunch and was recommended this place by some of the staff. Overall the food was pretty good, with fresh ingredients and generous portions. The seared fish tacos were decent, though I really needed to rely on the lime crema to enhance the flavor. The highlights were the sides, though. The sweet potato fries and calamari were crispy but not too oily, and they were well-seasoned. The sauces were also on-point, providing a nice, complementary acidity.

The halibut special was amazing. So many flavors and the fish was cooked to perfection. Sit outside to enjoy the weather and Sea Lions boisterous banter. They also have a varied craft beer and wine selection.

We love the food, location and fabulous wine selection! We live in the harbor so boating here is always a great time! My girls and I split the calamari and fish tacos and tots! Everything was so good… get the TOTS!!!!!

We had the tots and the fried artichokes. Very tasty and nice options for dipping sauces. The burger slider was so good! But the tri-tip slider was even better with all the grilled peppers. Great food and will definitely go back!

The field salad was great! Really fresh and a nice mix of flavors. We also got the chakalaka grilled cheese which was huge on thick pieces of brioche and came with a healthy side of tater tots. Super fast!

First choice on menu was not available. Fish tacos had no salsa or sauce. We were told by a snotty waitress that we’d have to “come inside, stand in line and pay for more.” The tri tip sandwich had the same “no or next to no sauce.” Patio was nice. Prices were reasonable. We will not return. There’s many other good places that want our business.

My husband and I just had lunch at Woodward Marine Market & Cafe. It was so good. It exceeded our expectations. My husband had the burger and I had the grilled cheese. Both were absolutely delicious. And so much more than a typical burger and grilled cheese. Their menu choices are great! And the place is so cute, clean and has a fun water view. We spent an hour after our lunch having wine and watching the seals. I highly recommend it!

The only reason a star has been deleted is because of the sauces served with the food. The tartar sauce is called tartar sauce, but it is thin and runny and doesn’t taste anything like traditional tartar sauce. It tastes like a creamy pickle juice. The sauce served with the French fried artichokes didn’t taste anything like an “olive and roasted garlic aioli”. It was very spicy and tasted much more of horseradish. Finally, I asked for ranch dressing on the side because French fires and ranch are…well, the best…but they do not have ranch dressing. Even though they have salads on the menu, they don’t have ranch dressing. My husband can’t eat vinegar…so had he ordered a salad, he would have had to eat it dry. There needs to be an option for something beside a vinaigrette or Caesar. I appreciate homemade sauces and dressings, but I would love to have the more traditional flavored sauces available.

Many places nearby seem to focus on an abundance of fried seafood, but at Woodward Marine the menu offer a wider range of options, freshly prepared, and served quickly by friendly people.
