Good Taiwanese staples, but nothing amazing. Our favorites were the popcorn chicken and braised beef noodle soup. Prices are very reasonable, and portions were large. Service was friendly and food came out fast. I hear they get busy, so try to come right at opening time.

First restaurant in years that I dined in twice a day. I know I miss my late grandmother. But on her steps are also a few notable elders who made a huge impact in my life. The one that specifically did so was 黄妈妈 (Auntie Huang) who was so stressed over the fact that I lived alone from family overseas when I first got here. She didn’t believe I’d survive alone and so she always cooked and packed meals for me. Two decades later, long past and still grieving that loss, here I am taking time to remember her again – twice in a day.

Super tasty selection at a great price. Our favorites were the spicy Wonton Noodles and the popcorn chicken. It was a bit of a wait to be seated since there aren’t a ton of tables, but it was definitely worth it!

Absolutely delicious! Food is authentic, comforting, flavorful, and the portion sizes are great for the price. The beef noodle soup was especially tasty. Great family run small restaraunt. Am definitely going to get lots of take out here.

We’ve been hoping to try Grandma’s Kitchen for a while now and were happy to see it was open during our last visit to Newton. As other reviewers have mentioned, the seating is a pretty big issue here. At some point during lunch time there were more people sitting down waiting for tables than there were people eating. They only have four tables and regardless of party size they use the same table so as a result a good amount of table space ends up getting unused. We waited around 20 minutes to get seated since there were only two parties ahead of us, but the line got a lot longer afterwards.

Wow, what an incredible find! My girlfriend and I stumbled upon Grandma’s Kitchen for lunch, and we were absolutely thrilled to finally discover authentic Taiwanese food right here in Boston. Trust us when we say we’ve explored many other places, but none have captured the true essence of Taiwanese flavors quite like this hidden gem.

Bought take outs and ate in at Grandma’s Kitchen. The braised beef noodles were a delight, spareribs were so soft, they meat slid off the bone without effort. And love how slurpy and al dente the noodles were. Popcorn chicken and the salt & pepper pork were also exploding with tastes that make you salivate.
