Our founder Rusty Fenton’s dream was to bring the authentic taco stand experience to local communities and to become the neighborhood taco stand.
The dream became reality when the first Rusty Taco opened in a converted gas station on Greenville Avenue in Dallas, TX in 2010. But Rusty Taco is more than just a place for street tacos. Rusty also believed in serving the community and creating a place where people from all walks of life can come together and feel welcome.
We are passionate about what we do and keep our menu fresh and simple. Deliciously uncomplicated tacos crafted by hand with recipes created by our founder, who famously said: “Tacos are the Most Important Meal of the Day®”!

It is a modernized spin of Tex-Mex food. If you are looking for traditional Tex-Mex or real Mexican food, this is not the place to go. However, please don’t read this as a negative. Their food was good. The atmosphere was nice. And the flavors throw a lot of curve balls which is something I actually enjoy. I will go back. But as I said at the top, modernized Tex-Mex is their niche and they do very good job at it.

I tried Rusty Taco today for breakfast. It’s in the Ridglea area off Camp Bowie (which reminds me a bit of The French Quarter in New Orleans). It’s such a nice area of Fort Worth. Anyways, I decided on the bacon taco, chorizo taco, and jalapeño sausage taco. All breakfast tacos come with egg & cheese. I also got a mango margarita. Their drinks are offered with “the cheap stuff” or “the good stuff”, but let me tell ya: the cheap stuff is still strong! The tacos came out looking good. The salsa choices are mild, medium, and hot, but I’d have to say the mild is much spicier than the medium sauce (which I loved). The jalapeño sausage taco was a little disappointing (wasn’t a fan of the flavor), but that chorizo taco is where it’s at – it was SO good! It was about $20 for just myself with the 3 tacos & “cheap stuff” margarita. Outdoor seating is available which will be great with this cooler weather we are starting to get!

Pleasant atmosphere and food served in timely manner. I ordered ground beef nachos; not too mild and not too spicy, a good blend with a splendid taste.

Inside the Ridglea Village Shopping Center, (and right next to our masseuse and chiropractor) lies Rusty’s Taco! I had some time to kill, so suddenly it was “Taco Time”. Nice environment to dine in, or out, on their warm and sunny patio. I chose from the new specialty menu and ended up with the Green Street Taco. The pork with all those flavors were outstanding and that flour tortilla..yummy! Washed it down with an ice cold Coca-Cola in a large glass bottle! Nice job Rusty…see ya again soon

My food was excellent. I had the BBQ brisket taco and the picadilly taco. There were too many onions in the picadilly taco, but I picked some off. The BBQ brisket taco was amazing The veggie toppings were very fresh and crispy. The crispy fried chicken pieces in my daughter’s taco were so crispy that she couldn’t eat them which was surprising because the rest of the food was so good

First time trying this place and it was really good. I asked for a shrimp taco and ended up getting a fish taco. I didn’t make much fuss because I was already home and didn’t feel like going back out.

Amazing food, amazing service! Start to finish, ordering catering from Rusty Taco exceeded my expectations. I used the EZ Cater service online to order for my friend’s grad party. For about 15-20 people, I ordered two breakfast taco bars (eggs + flour tortillas), two orders of chips and queso, and some bacon and cheese to go with the taco bar. The food was delicious! Everyone that came and ate raved about it. When I picked up the order, they knew I was coming and were ready on time. The manager and one of the workers assisted me in getting the food to my car, which was incredibly helpful! They also included salsa in my order, which wasn’t expected either! The only thing I would change is ordering more queso…it went so quick!!!

This place is fantastic! Never been here and not gotten good service! These guys are on their game. The margaritas are great and the food is on point. Happy hour from 4-7 with 3$ half priced well margs and 6$ top shelf. Very delicious. But Salvador and Austin really tied the place together with their outstanding customer service and menu knowledge! Thanks Rusty Taco! We love ya!

My experience at Rusty’s is usually fair. But recently my order is always messed up. Don’t get me wrong great food, just the customer service and prices are definitely not worth it with other places to choose from. Happy hour to-go is a child size cup, as if the regular cups are already small enough and very pricey. All and all I stopped making that my #1 spot and went with a different restaurant to go to after work and on weekends.
