Watami use to be a favorite place for take out for us. This new Zi Watami, the staff is friendlier but the food was a huge disappointment. We ordered steak and chicken habachi. The meat tasted boiled and had no flavor. The steak was covered in black pepper. The vegetables were even bland. LSU roll was kind of ok but that spicy mayo Waste of $$ Will not be going back. First pic is what use to be. Second is what we got tonight

Weirdest experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I got at 12:30PM, a typical lunch hour, and the place was empty. I was literally the only customer there.

The food is actually good to me. I want to update my review. I had one bad experience, but the rest were really good. I have had mostly great experiences here with the food and the service. I know we are dealing with challenges.

I have never tasted great Sushi, until me and my daughter went to Watami’s. Now I know what real Sushi is supposed to taste like. Some of the reviews I will agree with. The utensils they supply are extremely thin plastic, and makes it somewhat hard to eat your meal. They do supply chopsticks as well, if you choose to use them. The prices are a bit “high”. For me and my daughter, the bill was $50+. It’s so much cheaper to eat at an all you could eat buffet. Not sure if it’s always as warm as it was this day when we went. But this particular day, it’s was a bit stuffy and caused us to bring our food home and finish later that night. Over all, I really enjoyed the food. The foods have a wonderful flavor with all the different spices used on each particular dish. Yes, I will be going back to eat, but I will be ordering take out this time. I also will watch what I order so not to have an expensive bill as I did this day.

Sorry but cant give a positive review on this place. They literally served us sushi inside the establishment at $10 a roll on a styrofoam plate divided in 3 sections. The kani kami and the volcano which yes are both deep fried had so much oil still that when we picked it up off the plates the grease dripped off the chop sticks. When asked why they are serving $10 plus rolls on styrofoam plates we were informed bc the kitchen staff is lazy and doesnt want to wash dishes. So we ate 2 rolls and a seaweed salad that cost $30 plus tip like we were in a sandwich shop. Better yet even a sandwich shop would put a decorative paper over the styrofoam plate. Very dissatisfied and wont be returning. Their staff continues to diminish.

Great food. Attentive service. Broken English. Tiger roll was amazing. Hibachi steak crisis lo mein was extra good. Little pricey for small town restaurant but I enjoyed it.
