The Kate Pearl Tea Room is an English-style tearoom designed to provide our customers with periods of respite while dining on freshly prepared foods of the highest quality accompanied by a wide variety of fine teas.
Our mission is to connect generations. We see so many guests introducing the younger generations to the fine art of afternoon tea, and it brings us so much JOY! We named our tea room in honor of our Great Great Grandmother, Kate Pearl Loose, who was known for always being quite the “put together” lady. She wouldn’t even go to her mailbox without her hat & gloves, stockings, purse, and of course – her pearls!
Our tea room is a place to unwind. We like to think of it as a spa for the soul.

This place is very cute and super fun for a one-time experience! I say that as I won’t be coming back for a couple of reasons: one is that the little snacks, while tasty enough, were probably mostly bought in. The oranges on our tower were even a little dry and had suspicious dots of blue on it. Two piggybacks off this: the price is just not suited to the quality and quantity of the food. I know I am mostly paying for the experience, but 35 each after tip for *light* (not even the regular) afternoon tea is steep. I’d consider it steep at a restaurant, too, honestly. Positives: the service was fantastic and made us feel welcome and paid attention to. The tea aspect of the experience was great! The ones we got were tasty (and the tea menu was extensive). Our pots were wrapped in fabric and we were provided w sugar and cream. The atmosphere was great and felt like we’d stepped into a different time. That felt like the thing I was buying because I felt I could recreate all the other parts of the experience at home. But overall, I enjoyed my time! It was fun and a nice way to spend an afternoon and the shops nearby are fun to explore.

Staff is very nice and friendly. Really cute tea spot with a variety of teas. We scheduled for an event with a large group. Everything was perfectly organized. Food was great. Scones and sandwiches are amazing. Loved the garden vegetable soup. Delicious desserts.

Lovely tea room in downtown Sykesville. Our party of 4 visited on Saturday for lunch & thoroughly enjoyed. They were busy but still received great attentive service. The atmosphere was lovely, food presentation on point, and everything was delicious. We had the royal tea which was filling & had many teas to choose from. Would highly recommend & will return!

We had a lovely tea here. We made reservations, and came for the Victorian tea. We were each able to choose one tea, and we chose white peach and white strawberry. Then we could choose soup or salad. I really enjoyed the salad. Next was a scone, which was absolutely delicious. After that was a tray of little sandwiches, quiche, and desserts. They were all good, though the quiche was not our favorite. The service was excellent overall. We were seated at a table right by the window, and it was really hot. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and I would return for another special event.

We had a lovely sit down tea here! The food did take a bit between courses but I felt the pace was still good. The food was so good and the sequence made sense.

My husband and I had a wonderful time here. I made us a reservation for a fall afternoon after a day of apple picking. When we arrived I kept looking around soaking everything in, it was just so cute and cozy

I love this place. They have so many teas and a wide selection of finger foods. It’s on the fancy side and each person gets a very different tea cup design. It’s definitely a finger food and talk with people type of place. So don’t expect to go just for food but the experience of finger food and talk. The food is filling since you’d get so many even though it’s small bites each. We did the royal tea which gave an appitizer of cheeses and fruits, small teacup-sized of soup, scone, salad, and some stuff on the photo. They say they change the menu often but it was pretty fresh and mostly sweet side of food.

We held a bridal shower here and everything was simply wonderful! The bride to be had an amazing time and everyone commented on how wonderful and delicious the teas and food were. The cookies that they made for our favors were such a great touch. We will be back for sure!

Enjoyed a delicious tea luncheon with The Royal-tea Club at Sweet Simplici-Tea. They were able to fit 40 of us in one room. The wait staff are hardworking & very friendly. Located in downtown Sykesville with many shops to explore after your dining experience.
