Family owned establishment with a great history with the community and kids. They have endless fish stories to tell. They treat you as a family member. Very conversationable. I work a lot of Saturdays and my coworker brought me there. We go every Saturday. Thanks Stacey!

Captain Gus’s is a breath of fresh air in a fast casual dining scene stuffed to the brim with unremarkable chain restaurants. My cheesesteak was easily the best I’ve had since moving to Lancaster 10 years ago and the staff was friendly and nice. Much like Route 66 Restaurant on the other side of town, the rundown interior may deter the uninitiated but it’s their loss.

Depending on who makes the food. Is something that can be worked on, you’ll still never find any flavors like this anywhere! But I have a huge issue with the hours.. who wants a cheesesteak at 7:30? I grew up coming here and the hours are horrible absolutely horrible people that go out for a few drinks want a place to go eat this man doesn’t want the shop pass it on to someone who does.

Captain Gus what can I say this place is a local staple and for great reasons it’s been around forever the cheese steaks are amazing if you haven’t tried one stop playing around and get in there and try a cheese steak and their fresh cut fries can’t forget your favorite soft drink. This place will have you bring your friends and family by its that special.

This place is great, it was exactly what I wanted it to be after I saw it from the exterior! Don’t go if you are expecting something else. Think Philly cheese steak vibe, i.e Pat’s or Geno’s, with granpops decor and the veteran staff that started at the place a while ago… just to get you on the same page.

This place is a diamond. I love the old school feel. A simple sandwich spot with great people and clean place. The vibe is great with the OG menu and soda machine. I mean they even use the old ketchup bottles. Everything captures that old mom and pop feel. And the subs are great, i had a cheessteak with onions and sause(marinara). And i was juicy and with soft bread.
