I am new to working in Elgin. I was driving in downtown and thought I would try this restaurant. I am so glad I did. I ordered the lunch special which includes tea. Everything was seasoned well. It was a lot of food. The relleno was crispy which I liked as opposed to the softer egg batter. They had a hotter salsa which was really good as well. I highly recommend this place. I can’t wait to bring my family and friends here.

We went there to hear the Shop Dawgs. Music in the Park had gotten rained out so they moved it to El Maguey. It’s been a long time since we have been there. They have really freshened up the place! I had the chicken fajita nachos and they were very good. Our server was very attentive and she even made me coffee! Of course the music was awesome as Shopdawgs are one of our favorite bands. They rocked the house!

First time visitor with my wife. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Every dish served was a delicious homemade style. Food arrived in decent amount of time. Spoke with manager and complimented him on his fantastic serve and food. Both my wife and I enjoyed everything. I open carry here in Texas. And being armed was never questioned or an issue.

Great food & friendly service. I didn’t like the fact there was a fly buzzing around constantly landing on our table. Couldn’t completely enjoy my meal bc fly kept trying to land on our plate, had to be on guard. Also noticed a big black & red ant crawling on the wall next to where I was sitting. Had to knock it off n step on it

Black spots on the martini shaker, broken high chairs, no changing tables for infants in the restrooms, food was mid, and the service left a LOT to be desired. Top it all off with someone who thought serving orange juice in a martini was a good idea, and you have yourself a 2 star experience.
