Alright, when I begrudgingly moved to Prineville, I was told that I had to eat at Dillon’s. It was supposed to be the best mid level restaurant in town. I was also told that for upscale food, Club Pioneer was top-notch. Well, I have been to restaurants in most every state, and I have eaten at everything from a corner dive to Michelin Star establishments. I have also written a LOT of reviews that get millions of views. I have been to both of those places two or more times (you can read my reviews), and they don’t even come close to Barney Prine’s. Dillon’s was atrocious every time I went. Both the food and the service were awful. Club Pioneer was overpriced, had stingy portions, and the food was bland and unremarkable. No one I know had ever mentioned Barney Prine. I drove by several days ago and was determined to try it. I elected to try take out first, which, in my opinion, is the most difficult to get right.

Everything tasted amazing but dinner took forever. Service was slow. With dinner taking 50 mins to arrive, I was a little upset but again everything tasted great with my dinner. My wife thought her Fish and chips was ok. Wasn’t fresh but we are in central Oregon and I don’t think the fish guy is stopping here daily.

An absolutely phenomenal steak dinner! And a tasty dessert to boot! The only problem we had was the service since they had a huge party to attend to we had to wait a bit for most of our orders. The food is worth it.

Actually one of the best steaks I had in a long time. The filet mignon was epic. The bar was super cool atmosphere, the restaurant needs updated from the old fashion booths, but we will definitely be going back, and highly recommend this place if you a are looking for an amazing steak. They were putting in outdoor seating for the sunshine that is coming to us soon. New ownership, and thumbs up to this place.

Just had cup of chowder which was good, plus a salad that wasn’t cold, both $11.50. Prices on happy hour menu goes up $1 after hours ends. Can’t substitute daily vegetable choice, asparagus, for anything without a up charge.

Food was common, although pricing is extraordinary. Service was mediocre to poor. Because we were a party of six, a 20% gratuity – a very much unearned tip – was automatically added to our bill.

Excellent Prime Rib. Best we’ve had in a long time. Good sides and dessert. Definitely a surprise find in a small town. Fun & friendly staff.

Food was good, service was good, dining room prices were high. We really like the bar menu and prices but the bar was full so we sat in the dining room.
