Ordered shrimp camarones and carne asada, let the guy know we did like the menu items ingredients just could we lose the SPICY-NESS….he agreed we get home…the stuff so hot and spicy couldnt even enjoy the entree…..oh well on the flip side carne asada was on point!❤️

Overpriced, the cheapest menu item was 13.00. With tip and coke I paid 22.00 for chicken, beef and bell peppers covered in cheese. Traditionally, mexican restaurants serve chips and slasa, none was offered or provided here. The dish was borderline unedable, when trying to fork a piece of meat the entire dish came up in one piece, it was stuck together. The meat portion was small when compared to the rest of the ingredients. All I could taste was cheese. The menu is in Spanish only so make sure you speak and read Spanish, which I do thankfully. The checkout process is also entirely in Spanish so if you dont speak or read Spanish you’re not going to know what you’re paying for. The wait staff was somewhat attentive, she said it was her 2nd day so for a new employee she did ok. She didn’t know the menu, what menu items were, or make any recommendations. No specials were listed or offered. The decor was ok, it was clean and the seats were comfortable, however the lighting was so poor I had to use my cell phone to read the menu. I usually give a place a few chances before posting a review, but with every single menu item being double digits ($xx.xx) I won’t be back. Most of the menu offerings appeared to be authentic Mexican food, what you would expect if you traveled to Tijuana or Mexico City, the prices are just too high for the food offerings on the menu, and the quality of the food I was served was poor. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Cocktail de Cameron is my “go to” entree at any Mexican restaurant but I was SHOCKED to find that there were only 7 less than tiny frozen shrimp in this dish at La Monarca Mexican Food . The shrimp used in this dish at EVERY other restaurant that I have been to have been very large and fresh but the ones used by La Monarca Mexican Food are literally smaller than a penny and flavorless… This was my first time ordering from this restaurant and I can guarantee that will NOT be giving this restaurant my business again!!
