We thoroughly enjoyed our meals from Mi Familia. The beans were authentic. They have multiple mofongo options. The tri-fongo was our favorite! the empanadas we’re huge and packed with fillings. The pelni aka pulled pork was tender and flavorful. We will definitely be back!

Another road trip worthy stop if you are craving authentic Puerto Rican food. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful. The beans were aromatic and delicious. The yuca was dry but tasty nonetheless. My mom enjoyed the cod fish and avocado salad. The restaurant is nine minutes from the Long Island Ferry in New London, CT.

This is a takeout review. All food is eaten promptly in the vehicle. This was an excellent experience. I tried some chicken, a rib, pork, rice with bacon, stew, and some thing fried which I don’t know the name of. First of, the fried piece, which resembled a large mozzarella stick was outstanding. It had a crispy outside and a beautiful chewy inside with corn and some great sweetness to it. All of the other food was very nicely done, great flavor, large portions, and more than filling. Once again a great overall experience. I went back in to talk to the owner and he was a really nice person also. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 9.1.

The food is delicious and fresh. Everything I tried was delicious. The service was good. It is a small place. Seating is limited to two tables outside. The tables are beautifully designed with a Puerto Rican flag. There are also some benches to sit on.

Basically I tried everything on the menu. Lol! The white rice and beans perfect w/potatoes . My daughter enjoyed the fried chicken and yellow rice/beans. The fried chicken is Delicious! We also tried a choc chip fudge banana chip brownie, So Good! And the Staff are all friendly. I love this place!
