I can’t possibly have a more dim view of this particular Chipotle location, which is frustrating, because it’s literally 1 block from my home. Not only have many friends and neighbors gotten sick after eating here over the years, and also very recently, but the service is incredibly inept, and the consistency of their servings varies widely from one visit to the next. I walked out today mid preparation because the serving size was so ridiculously small, it was practically an insult. I’m done, never going back. Too many other options.

I recently visited Chipotle in Santa Monica and was impressed with the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, as well as the friendly and efficient staff. Some Chipotle locations can be an absolute trainwreck, but this one met expectations on what a Chipotle experience should be. I tried queso for the first time, and it was just so-so, but the carnitas bowl didn’t disappoint. I’ll be back.

Friendly staff, pretty empty when I went for dinner at 8 pm on Thursday night, so I was immediately served with no wait. I got a barbacoa bowl to go, and it was pretty tasty and filling. You can ask for a tortilla on the side if you get a bowl, and they’ll warm it up and wrap it in foil for you. The brown rice was a little bit hard and slightly crunchy, so dunno if it was overcooked or had been sitting out too long.

Enjoying my salad at Chipotle. Love that I can get a filling fresh salad for only 5 points on Weight Watchers and still satisfied. (Lettuce, black beans, chicken, corn salsa, salsa, fajita veggies, cheese). Yum as always.
