Easy to find right on the corner of 55th and Troost with limited street parking but plenty of parking in the back. Although the dining room is small my friend and I had no trouble finding a table at lunch time on a weekday. The table was close to the front door and every time someone opened the door a gust of cold air rushed in. When I return to try their breakfast I will try to get a table far away from the cold. We ordered our food at the counter and Ray, our server brought the food to our table. Ray was very attentive and rounded out the whole experience for me. I was curious about the pork belly sandwich and ordered it while my buddy got the cheese burger, both were prepared perfectly and served hot. I loved the pork belly sandwich and would recommend it to anyone who is not concerned about cholesterol and clogged arteries! It was delicious! The French fries are fresh cut wide steak fries I would call them and although they could have been done a little better I really liked them a lot as I prefer the wider fry. Everything is prepared fresh and presented well. If I can get the princess out of bed before 9 AM this morning I would like to go back for breakfast today.

Had their brunch and thought the food was great. The Urban Bowl is a heaping portion. I did not expect farro grains to work well with sweet potatoes + pesto but the dish comes together nicely. I added the chicken and it was grilled with a perfect smoked flavor. The shrimp and grits are a popular item and it delivered as well with a nice topping of pork belly. Would have given 5 stars but it was incredible hot in the restaurant. Seemed like the air conditioning was not working well and so it was a bit difficult to enjoy the ambiance.

We really enjoyed this cute little Cafe. There is some seating outside, and the inside is open for dining. The food was great and I can’t wait to come back and try more items. We tried the pork belly sandwich and the sweet potato veggie wrap. Both items came with thin potato slices and they were much better than a typical French fry. The employee that we encountered was friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff and I love atmosphere. When I went on a Saturday morning, there was live jazz being played by musicians using a vibraphone and bass. You order at the bar and they’ll bring your food to you.

My first time at Urban Cage KC. My girl had dinner with her sisters the evening before and she insisted we go for brunch. The atmosphere was cool but had a real touch of class in the place. The service was great and the food was hot and looked great. Tasted better than it looked…The only thing that wasn’t ideal for me was that the Bloody Mary I ordered was a bit too spicy for me and I had to ask for and get a cup to take it home for later…We going back…

Very impressed. We go out for brunch most Sundays after church, and this is one of the best experiences we’ve had. Fresh meat, organic ingredients, serve piping hot. Steak and eggs with perfect holidays and perfect potatoes. Beautiful shrimp with pork belly over creamy grits. Great atmosphere and welcoming service. You won’t believe this we potato parfait with yogurt and toast and granola.

This place deserves more stars, their food is amazing. You can tell the chef and owner care a great deal about quality and freshness. Each item I’ve ordered from here has surpassed my expectations. The meat is always cooked to perfection, the grilled chicken sandwich here did not make me mix a fried chicken because it had so much flavor and smokiness. Incredibly tender. Their weekend brunch menu is awesome. I highly recommend their shrimp and grits, and steak and eggs. Oh and their pancakes are huge!

This was unexpectedly adorable. We ordered the Chicken Philly and it was a beautiful take on a hometown favorite. The young black brother and owner is polite and welcoming. I tried the sweet potato parfait. WOW! Try this place, great for fresh local produce and clean food cuisine.

Yes you do want to go here! This whole space is an absolute vibe. We were in Kansas City for our 10 year anniversary and we found this space and they did not disappoint. Listen the guy at the bar Jesus was amazing soon as we walked in we were greeted by him we instantly felt welcomed and part of the family!
