Great food and service, gyro had great flavor with a soft and grilled pita, Greek salad had all the right stuff and great dressing, and the lemon rice soup was just right. One of the better coney’s in the area.

I’m biased, I’ve been going here or its original location for close to 40 years. Huge menu, all well executed. Feels like there was a staff or management turn over in the last year but quality stayed consistent. It’s a Coney so don’t go in expecting Michelin quality food or service but for a Coney it is top notch. Good people and good food, a great neighborhood restaurant.

Enjoyed the visit overall. Stopped by for a quick bite before leaving town. Service was great, but food was just ok. I was disappointed that my home cut fries were badly overcooked and inedible, but unfortunately, I didn’t have time to wait for more to be made. Will definitely visit again to try more of the menu as there were MANY dishes that sounded delicious.

I wish I could give it 4 1/2 stars. Hellenic is a great place to eat. The food is always good. This is my place to stop everytime I’m in town. I’ve been going since before they moved into this new location. The portion size is not the same. I normally order the small chicken greek salad but this time I ordered a large. To me it is the same size as the small. It’s just spread out over a bigger container. I didn’t take a pic of the salad because I didn’t eat it the same day and forgot. It was good and I will be back but I won’t pay the extra money for the large… I’ll stick to the small.

I ordered a Greek salad without the toppings (only wanted eggs, cucumber, and cheese). They didn’t offer eggs or Parmesan cheese so I requested extra cucumber……The chicken on the salad was tender and hot but the problem was they put really hot chicken on top of the feta cheese that then melted and wilted the salad. The lady who took my order was not very pleasant and seemed like she didn’t want to be there. Overall, food could have been better (was ‘ok’), and service definitely below par.

New menu prices are absurd. I realize prices are going up everywhere but in no world should an omelet cost $14. Will not be back and everyone in the area that I’ve spoken to agrees. Good luck once everyone catches on.

I go to Hellenic EVERYTIME I’m in the area for a Chicken Greek Salad with shredded cheese not feta, tomatoes, onion, chickpeas, beets, and their signature dressing. They never want to sub my cucumbers, only complaint. This time I had family so we sat and ate. Omelet for my little one and chicken pita for hubs. I had chili fries with frozen fries (you can get fresh skin on as well). Our server was pretty dope too!

I have been patronizing this establishment since I was a kid when it was located in it’s original location. Part of my scoring maybe influenced by nostalgia, but it is clean, well run, family owned and the food is delicious. The Chicken Greek Salad is legendary.

Greek diner in Detroit featuring all the expected dishes. Being in Detroit, it also features Coney Islands. The locals who took us there claimed these are amongst the best in the city.
