Just had a great experience at North End Steakhouse! We hot four steaks and we all agreed they were tremendous. Nice, solid, healthy portions cooked perfectly to order. And to top it off, the wait staff was great. Karen and Craig were so fun. Ask Craig for his Pete Rose impersonation, haha!!

Our server Joneya was knowledgeable about the menu as well as the wine- a great help to us. She balanced being attentive and allowing us to have space and time to enjoy our meal. The courses were paced very well. Both of the steaks we ordered were cooked to order. Terrific for the Tuesday $15 steak special night. The woman clearing the table was very on-top of making sure our table was bussed. Definitely will return and would reccomend.

Stayed at the hotel and decided the first night that we would try it out..not so pleased. The food needs some work..dry and somewhat flavorless- i hope they work on it! Unorganized too..our appetizer came out with one meal and that’s not how we wanted it. The only thing good was how sweet our waitress Christina was (she seemed to be working the whole place alone!) and the bartender at the time was a nice woman as well!

I’ve eaten here all three nights that I stayed at the hotel and what a treat to get hearty meals without having to step foot outside in the cold! I sampled the Prime rib, clam chowder, sandwiches, sides and drinks – all were great and served up quickly too. Warm and friendly atmosphere…..

The food was quite good in fact, nothing to argue with that. Service and timing was another story: While our waitress was really nice and kind, she also seemed a little overburdened. I had to wait quite a long while for my second beer. The waiting time for the food was also quite long, but nice snacks were provided. Also, at least two different of the waiters seemed a little deaf, we felt like we had to shout the orders or questions at them, and one of our orders was delivered completely wrong (we got a sandwich instead of the swordfish). This mistake was corrected without argument somewhat quickly though.

I have a club sandwich and some really excellent clam chowder I was pleased with the service is friendly communicative. The bar itself is part sports bar part family restaurant a big one ambulance the food seems to be better than one would expect. My turkey club had real turkey meat!

This place is a joke- reminds me of the movie “Waiting”. Came for breakfast, hostess didn’t greet us or even look at me or family. We got seated by lady behind bar. (She is the only reason there is a star). Came around 6 for quick bite- again, staff looks like they hate their job or are told to not acknowledge guests. Food is as good as your neighborhood diner. They charge you for refills. A customer complained about refills table next to us and asked for manager. They refrained from bringing him over and said it was a new waitress but they dont charge- it was a mistake. When i got bill about 15 mins later, i got charged for a refill on a kids menu soda. I felt very comfortable at that point leaving a $0 tip and saving an argument. By the way, i am usually a great tipper for great service.

Computer was down. Can’t blame the servers for that. But when the food comes out long overdue and cold (the steak) you’d expect to altleast have a free drink. Mind you not the first time this has happened as I’ve been there many times and no compensation whatsoever when something comes out wrong. I’m a good tipper but starting to think it’s not so deserved anymore.

I’ve lived I Newport all my 70 years and even worked across the street for 10 and shame on me. Last Sunday was the first time I dined here what a hidden jem. The food and service was great and for Newport VERY fair in price. Don’t be fooled this hotel has a super restaurant. We will be going back often there is so much on this menu we want to try.
