This place is fantastic. The food was extremely good. I had the queso birria tacos, and they were perfect, cheesy, and full of meat. The guacamole was so flavorful as were the salsas. The atmosphere was great. Very clean and the service was very good. Good portion at a fair price.

We went a couple of days ago and I really loved it. I am usually very picky about Mexican food because I know when it’s not authentic or doesn’t taste like it should (I’ve lived in Mexico and am Hispanic) and I usually end up disappointed at every Mexican restaurant I go to. Might as well save the money and make food better at home BUT this place was just amazing. Everything was very flavorful and so savory. The waitress was so nice and welcoming. Food portions were very big and more than fair for the price. Definitely will recommend to all my friends.

Absolutely delicious food, very kind waitress, and great value (got the mini carbonada). Also, everything was made to order fresh food, it seemed like even some of the salsas may have been homemade too. I typically don’t leave reviews but I just had to for this hidden gem! Was my first time there and I will definitely make the 40 minute drive to come back soon. Can’t say I’ve tried a lot, but I’ve tried enough to say this is the best Mexican food I’ve ever had.

IM from deep South Texas and since I moved to WA it’s hard to find Authentic Mexican flavors. This place is by far the best place I have had the pleasure of trying, the menu is extensive but easy to read and choose. We tried several appetizers because we didn’t want to miss out on anything, the best papa asada with carne asada I have had. The Agua de Jamaica was Perfect! The street tacos where delicious. I recommend you try this place!

Food was the best Mexican food I’ve ever had and I’m always trying out new spots, this place really tops the list by far! Excellent presentation and was delicious! We got the “illusion Al carbon” meal that says it can feed 3 to 4 people, it was way more food than that! Fed 4 adults and 2 kids, plus Took a bunch home too!

We got shut out of Moctezuma so we went to LA ILUSION AL CARBON and it was so good. We were pleasantly surprised. Great service, tasty food, fun decor. My new favorite Mexican place in Tacoma. Highly recommend.

Very hard to find any pictures/info of the menu online. All pictures are outdated. I brought this concern when picking up my to-go order today to the manager and was basically told it is my problem because I have an iPhone. The menu works on their androids. As a customer, it’s important to know the price of what you are buying. Three lunches today was $73. Going off what the prices were online lunch would’ve been about $40. I hope that this review reaches who it should so that pictures of the menu can be posted on Google reviews or there is some clear menu that is accessible to all online.
