Hands down the best BBQ in Crystal lake. Staff is superb and the food does not skip a beat at all!!! Bartenders know how to make amazing drinks even one’s not in the menu. We’ve never had a bad experience here, EVER!!!! Joe & his wife know exactly what they are doing, keep up the great work guys. The townies are very impressed!!!!

NEW FAVORITE FOOD PLACE. Seriously, the staff is so friendly and so on top of things, my party felt like we were always being taken care of. Super clean. And I cannot stress enough how amazing the food is. If you like smoked meats, you NEED to come here. The pulled pork was superb, and the brisket was so good, it almost brought tears to our eyes. The brisket Philly is phenomenal.

The brisket sandwich was good. The pork bowl was ok. The Philly sandwich was said to have almost NO barbecue. And didn’t come with any on the side. I’m not a big bbq fan but my friend who is said this place was very disappointing for the barbecue aspect of it. I at least thought my sandwich was good. The jalapeño corn bread was very bland.

Had the ½ slab ribs. Didn’t like that they don’t take the time to pull the skin off the back of them. Also, you only get 2 super small jalapeño chedder cornbread with them. The beans are delicious. The blueberry chipotle que was too sweet and not hot enough.

Update: After a great takeout experience, I was eager to try to dine in and brought a date and arrived an hour before close on a Friday, and we were turned away as the kitchen was closed. It is what it is, but good for people to know. So far I have just tried the brisket as they don’t currently have ribs available. I may try them as well as dining in at some point and report back. The brisket is the best I’ve tried in the area. The place is very nice and cozy on the inside, and the bar looked good.

The philly brisket was pretty good, though not as flavorful as I would have liked – a bit too much cheese. The baked beans on the side were great. Service was friendly and attentive, and the interior is nice. Overall, this was a pretty good place to eat while waiting for the Metra train back into Chicago.

This place is our go-to for BBQ food, excellent food and even better service. Joe & Heather(owners) are absolutely making a name for themselves in the community. Fantastic meat. Really nothing more needs to be said. It’s nearly perfect. Not too smokey, not over done, still great meat flavor, but a beautiful smoke ring to show this meat had love for hours. Brisket and pork are both delicious. The apple mule was also surprisingly good. Staff is also excellent. My only gripe was that I was served a bay leaf inside my brisket chili. Small oversight, but literally the only issue.

I am so pleased with the balance of smoky meat with the seasonings. The ribs was so perfectly cooked. They were very tender, juicy and had a great crusty exterior. The beans were delicious. Not surprisingly the service was exemplary. The waitress was very attentive and we even had a little problem with our order and she took care of getting it corrected. We are definitely going to be back. And if you love great barbecue you’ll go too.
