Food is delicious. We ordered chana masala, methi matter paneer, aloo gobi and bhindi sasurwalli – a basket of bread and a lunch of appetizers – chili paneer, lasuni gobi and bhel. Except for the bhel, I recommend everything I mentioned. Ordered some cocktails and beer. I would come here 100% again for the food. Medium spiced, not too oily, everything great! Cocktails were so-so, they need to up their game! Place is tiny but everything in NY is. Servers are nice, very helpful. Also, the restaurant is supposed to have a coastal feel to the dishes but we didn’t feel that all at. Just regular North Indian-like food. Maybe their seafood dishes may provide the regional feel that it’s tagline claims.

Great upscale Indian on the east side. My favorites were the bong dum aloo and the chapati. The chapatis were very thin and soft. Also recommend the onion pakora – savory onion fritters.

Delicious authentic Indian food made right. The bhel puri chaat, chole, fried fish (in banana leaf) and buttery delicious naan were just what hit the spot. Don’t skip this spot if you are craving Indian food in NYC. Would come back and try many other dishes. The service was top notch as well!

The best Indian food in town. I always feel satisfied and inspired by the wonderful fusion of flavors. They have the right blend of flavors. The menu variety, freshness and quality and authentic food are key factors. I do a lot of take out from here, never disappointed. Travels well.

My dad is a regular there and loves it. It is his local. I’ve been before and it was better, but this time was way below average. Had to send dishes back. Freshness was not a standard I experienced. Things tasted microwaved and reheated. Will go again in the hopes that this was just a bad day, but I have the feeling things will be the same. Not terrible, but far from supreme.

Chola is a fine fine Indian restaurant in midtown NYC. The restaurant has reservations available and they also accept walk-ins. They have a very unique menu with a lot of dishes from the coastal side of India. We tried the Chicken Chili and Bombay Duck fry and both were very delicious. For the entree’s we took the black pepper chicken and the Malabar paratha. Overall it was a great dining experience.

Ate here on our recent trip to NYC. We started w samosas & onion parantha. Both delicious. I order the lamb madras, my husband ordered the chicken tikka & our daughter had the butter chicken. All dishes were amazing. I also had some mango lassie which was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant.
