Overall food was pretty good. This place is nestled in a small shopping center in Downtown Rockwall. I went today(Sunday) about noon so line wasn’t bad at all. Catfish was pretty good but the portion of shrimp I got for 10.00 could have been more than 5 small shrimp. Cornbread, Mac n cheese and greens was really good however. My only complaint, which is easily fixable and a suggestion to owner is this: Since this is primarily a catfish restaurant, it would be much better to serve real tartar sauce and not packets. You can give a standard 1 ounce and then charge for extra to recoup your costs. You can even add your own flair to it like have a spicy sauce and regular. I have frequented plenty of Catfish spots and it does make a difference.

Hands down some of the best catfish I’ve had and worth every penny! The owner and her mother and staff are super friendly and very sweet. Everything is cooked to order. Even my daughter that doesn’t prefer fish devoured the catfish! The banana pudding was a hit as well.

Excellent Catfish…Did not taste fishy at all! The Hush puppies and Banana Pudding were delicious also! I had the Mac and cheese..it was very delicious too! Its in the corner of the shopping center right off 205/Goliad. They have other dessert options as well. Make sure to check their facebook page for updates! They also cater and have a food truck for events! I Think this is the best catfish I have ever had!

Simply the Best Catfish and Southern Louisiana Cooking in the Lake Ray Hubbard area! Cross over Lake Ray Hubbard into Rockwall County and have a dinner that ain’t complete without a Banana Pudding and it’s homemade too! Z and her family are kind hearted and fun loving! Love them being here in Rockwall! Check Z’s out on Facebook and Instagram! But get there! I would advise you to place your order in advance. The food was well worth the wait. I ordered the catfish and shrimp in both spicy and mild. I preferred the mild. Others in my family liked the spicy best. The spicy has enough kick without ruining the taste. Red beans and Mac & cheese were flavorful and home-cooked style. My only critique is the sugar in the greens. I don’t like the taste of sweet in my savory food.

Heard that this had good food and was sorely dissapointed. The catfish, although very good seasoning was extremely overcooked and rubbery. The banana pudding tasted as if it has come out of a box. I will give credit that the red beans and rice were very good. Overall, I was not impressed one bit and not sure what all the hype is about.

We went to Zs for the 1st time. Had to wait on our order because someone had ordered an 80 piece fillet. So I’m thinking this is going to be banging. Ordered a 12 piece fillet, Mac and cheese and fries to go. The fish was decent, the mac and cheese was a little too cheesy for me. And the fries were fries. So it’s not bad and its just not Great.
