This is the best Mexican food in Athens. Service is awesome. The food ALWAYS comes out within 10 minutes. The food always comes out hot and you can taste the fresh, quality ingredients. Presentation of the food is very appealing. The margaritas are very good too!

Cute clean location! Service was very fast, they’re attentive to chip & salsa levels. Ordered fish tacos, carne asada fries, & taco plate. The fish tacos were freshly fried, but could use more sauce. The fries came with lots of steak, but the fries themselves were not crispy. Taco plate comes with rice and beans (ok, not very flavorful). Loved the al pastor taco – very juicy, but barbacoa was quite dry. Cheap margs! $5 for 12 oz and $7 for 16oz. Overall decent but not the best tex mex.

Loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. The place was very clean. Unfortunately the rice was horrible, probably some of the worst I’ve ever had. Not sure if I came by at a bad time. Other food was good. Staff was friendly and it was still a positive experience. 4 stars.

Stopped for dinner. Order at counter and they bring to your table. A few tables are in the room with the counter. There is another larger dining area with bigger tables. Neat ambiance with the colorful decor. Service was good, but we were the only ones there for a while.

Iguanas is a very delicious, locally owned restaurant. It’s hidden away in a sort of “hole-in-the-wall” manner, but the owner is so friendly and the food is delicious and fresh tasting. I have never gotten food here that I was disappointed with even a little bit. Definitely recommend even if you’re just visiting town. Hint: Try their fries!

Awesome family owned restaurant! The atmosphere is inviting and fun, the staff is always friendly, and the food is incredible. The tacos are probably the best in town (lengua & barbacoa Mexican style are my faves) and the esquites, salsa fresca, and chunky guac are must haves for starters. Will be back again & again!

Love this place! Great prices and the food is always fresh, delicious, and given in generous portions. I usually get the burrito bowl, but the tacos are great as well, and don’t miss the freshly made, chunky guacamole! Highly recommend.

Was given a different version of food than my boyfriend. I ordered a chicken taco. He ordered carnitas. He’s Hispanic. I’m white. I got a flour tortilla, no cilantro, was asked if I wanted lettuce and tomatoes. He was never asked this. His carnitas were on a corn tortilla served with lime like a more authentic Mexican taco. Mine also had cheese! Like Taco Bell. I came here for authentic Mexican food, not to be profiled and served American-ized Mexican food.
