It all began in 1993, when two local boys in Gulf Shores, Alabama decided to open up a casual family-focused seafood restaurant on the Gulf Coast. The idea was to create a restaurant where people would feel welcome to be themselves, families could afford to dine out together and strangers would leave as friends.
Coastal vacationers demanded that Shrimp Basket expand to provide this incredible seafood value to those unable to be at the beach year round.

The oyster basket was excellent, with a large portion size for the price. The oysters were a nice size and quite flavorful for June. The fries were very good, and despite the limited number of hush puppies (2) and corn fritters (1), they were also tasty. Shrimp Basket’s hot sauce, provided on the table, was also a welcome addition. The meal as a whole was filling and delicious.

I’ve been to the shrimp basket a couple of times, but today was my first time trying a new item on the menu. I ordered the seafood boil medium Cajun style. Everything was so delicious and the boil was just enough spiciness to satisfy my love of spicy food. Also, it was very filling and hot to order. The service was excellent, fast, and efficient. I truly enjoyed my experience and I’ll definitely be back for another seafood boil.

Well well well let me just tell you.Wife and I travel the great United States and stop at any and all seafood restaurants we can get our semi into.we are from Missouri so we don’t get much good Cajun food back home so when we are down south by gosh we stop and get some and we are not shy on what we spend while we are there as we love to eat and love to drink we are lucky to get out with less than a 200. Bill.this place has the best crab cakes,stuffed crab I’ve ever eaten and the crab leg/shrimp boil for two was absolute par we will make this place a regular stop anytime we are in auburn al thats for sure our waiter Keaton.c this young man new his stuff and was on top of everything recommended things to us and was very polite at alll times hope to see him there next time we are back in town the reason I spent so much as was the drinks and all the different foods we baught prices are very reasonable

Tonight was the first time we tried Shrimp Basket and were very happy we did. My wife and I had the Crab boil for two. It was more than enough for the both of us. The waitress promised we wouldn’t regret it and went so far as to say, if we did she would purchase it for us. Every bite was delicious. We loved the vibe, and will be back for sure.

Came here for a takeout order and the service was great. I had multiple people make sure I had been helped. Tricia took my order and she was so sweet and made sure I had all the condiments I needed. The food was cooked quickly and it was very good. My only complaint is that I got the combo basket with shrimp and catfish and was a little disappointed that I only received one piece of fish. Would have like a better portion for the price but overall pretty good
