Il Pizzico is hands down the best Italian restaurant in the area. We had an amazing experience tonight, the staff was incredibly considerate and professional. Our server, Marcus, was especially fantastic. And the food was outstanding, the Tri-tip steak special was possibly the best steak I’ve ever had, perfect medium, with an incredible wine reduction sauce. Can’t recommend this place enough. Make sure to make a reservation, as they’re always packed.

Incredibly simple online reservation system. Superb and friendly wait staff. The food is incredibly delicious. Also, the prices are very fair. You totally get your values worth. While some of the portions may look small, they are really filling. Seating is somewhat limited and they get pretty busy on the weekends. A reservation in advance is probably necessary unless you want to end up seated at the bar. Overall, I highly recommend eating at this restaurant.

Very crowded. Long wait times.(star taken) Your dish won’t sit flat on the table, because of cramped space they used foldable round tables that are not in good shape. Service was subpar. They forgot my dessert.(star taken) Food was medium quality. My almond cake was bitter. Next to a gas station, just like horror movies. And ahh your dress code must be smart casual, don’t forget that, they have sign for it.

I have been going to IL Pizzico since the 1990s and the food and service has been consistently great. It is now expanded to two dining rooms plus a bar area. Before they did not take reservations but now they do and I advise getting a reservation.

I would have given them a five-star start, but the constant stares from the hostess were uncomfortable. We felt like kids at a store were being followed by the manager.

This is one of the rare times I wish there was an extra star to give a resturant!! The food at Il Pizzico was absolutely devine!

My pasta was a bit dry (another person at our table’s was as well) – others at our table concurred. I asked the server for some more sauce, and the other person followed suit. The manager came over to the table, spoke to the other person and took their plate to take to kitchen to add more sauce. When I tried to hand him my plate, assuming they want both plates to take back to kitchen, I was told that they make pasta with perfect amount of sauce (aren’t you taking my friend’s plate back because hers also did not have enough sauce?). I shared with him that I’d like more sauce as the pasta was dry, and he told me they would have to charge me. (which of course I said was fine, it almost felt like I had to be insistent with him to get my need and request met). He ended up not taking my plate to the kitchen. He did return with the other person’s plate with extra sauce on their pasta. Much later on (when pasta was all cold) my extra sauce arrived – that of course I was charged for. The way the manager handled this situation for me really took me aback and made me feel like my needs were not validated. Later on when I looked at pictures of their menu items I compared the dish online vs what I received and it clearly had much much less sauce on mine. I really wish the manager treated me differently.

I used to go to this restaurant to celebrate special occasions. Last visit might be the last one. I ordered Calamari appetizer. It was extremely salty and the half of the dish was croutons. Main dish (sea food) was also so salty that I could hardly taste anything.

The best Italian restaurant in DMV. I’ve been here many times and all the dishes that I had here were absolutely phenomenal. Seafood pasta and rigatoni are delicious and I highly recommend the squid ink pasta. They have great appetizer and dessert menu too. This is a perfect place to celebrate any special occasions. I would make a reservation for dinner service and come early since they don’t have a lot of parking space.
