We came in Monday evening on Memorial Day. I really wanted to like this restaurant because is so close to my house but it’s been terrible. The whole fried Tilapia had a rank smell and tasted muddy,it left a greasy taste on the palate of my mouth so bad I just couldn’t stomach it, same with fries.The plate was big , everything was piled on; rice , vegetables, salad and toast but blunt and tasteless. The complimentary consomé was luke warm and the beans and chips just ok .didn’t taste fresh . The seafood tower was good but enough to make up for everything else . When the waitress brought out the appetizers we still didn’t have cutlery and after we asked for it we had to wait for her to punch in an order in the computer before she bring them. The restaurant had three tables so it wasn’t busy.Overall for 70 dollars spent I felt like I could’ve had a decent dinner that I could actually enjoy . I’ll definitely go to Muelle 37 for seafood in the future , their food is always fresh and delicious. I wanted to give this restaurant a try but I won’t be going back again .

We came for dinner on Friday evening. We were seated promptly, but then waited about 10 minutes before a server approached us. She said they were caught up in the kitchen. We waited another 10 minutes and she came over looked over her shoulder the whole time. She looked very rushed or maybe overwhelmed. ♀️

First time here at Villa del Mar and although we thought the food was a tad bit pricey for only one piece of fish, we thought food was delicious!!! HOWEVER, our waitress Angela was by far one of our best waitresses!! She was very friendly, gave excellent details on menu options, made us laugh and definitely accommodated when something didn’t meet our expectations. She definitely deserved her tip.

The food was good just not to many seasonings even though that is understandable because not everyone likes the Sam tastes but I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and the service was very well. Did not have any complaints.

We happened to be in the area and stopped in for lunch. I ordered the fish and shrimp soup tlalpeño. The medium – sized bowl comes with a side of rice and was FULL of shrimp, fish and vegetables with added Chipotle, avocado slices and mozzarella! It also comes in a large serving but I don’t think I could have finished that! My partner ordered the fried shrimp platter. The shrimp are crispy and it is served with fries, salad, broccoli, cauliflower and toast. Needless to say, Villa del Mar did not disappoint! We’ll definitely come back!
